Kass

Where did you guys go on your honeymoon in VT?  I feel like I have asked you this before but I forget!

Re: Kass

  • Nick's aunt has a second home in Wells, VT, right near Lake St. Catherine (I think?)  That is actually where we got engaged, and where we went right after the wedding.  I love it there, and love VT in general.  My first "daydream" is for us to move to Cape Cod, but my second daydream is for us to move to VT.  We haven't gotten back there since the honeymoon, but hope to get there sometime this year (one of Nick's cousins was living there temporarily).

You are in Burlington, right?  I've been there once, for less than 24 hours, but loved it, and would love to get back there sometime soon, too.

  • Oh okay, I think that is close to Killington, right?  Yes, we are outside of Burlington, which is about 2 hours north of there.  I am glad you are VT fan.  It has a lot of haters because of the long winters and that we don't have a Target(anywhere!) haha. You guys came up during foliage so that must have been nice!

I love Burlington, I went to school there but grew up closer to where you guys stay. You should definitely come visit soon.  Stowe is also really nice and is a fun place to visit in the winter or summer/fall.

  • Wow, I didn't know that VT had NO Targets!  My opinion might have just changedStick out tongue

Yeah, Wells is tiny, kind of South of Rutland, and it is very much on the west side of the state (the nearest grocery store is actually in NY).  But we love how quiet it is there....there is the best general store right down the road where we get our morning coffee, and the best homemade donuts EVER.  Oh, and I saw you are a cheese fan too....the cheese is soooo fresh!  My mouth is watering!

We will see his aunt in a few weeks, so I'm hoping she will tell us it is open for visitors again!

  • Seriously!  There is one kind of nearby, we just have to cross the lake and go over to NY but still!

That store sounds fabulous, cheese is the best food ever.  We had a camp when I was younger that had a store nearby like that that had fresh donuts, coffee and lots of other homemade deliciousness and then the Cabot factory was really nearby so that was amazing.  There is definitely something so great about tiny little towns.

Hopefully you are able to stay there soon, and if you are ever near Burlington let me know! :)
