Hi Ladies,
I will be visiting the Sonoma area within the next few days and I am stumped on what to pack. Weather-wise, what are people wearing right now? Are boots and coats still appropriate? Last time that I visited I wore dresses and sandals the whole time but of course that was a different time of year.
Also, any favorite restaurants or wineries? I will be in staying in Santa Rosa specifically. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Help An Atlanta Nestie
It's been cold lately and it's rained today in the Bay Area. It's actually possible there will be snow this evening: http://www.wunderground.com/US/CA/Sonoma.html
I would bring a warm coat and boots and umbrellas but also be prepared for it to warm up a little (into the high 50's for highs). Layering is always a good idea.

Have a great trip!

Hi,
I'm in Santa Rosa. Boots and coats are totally appropriate right now, it is currently 49 degrees and they say we may even get some snow overnight...but in all my years I've never seen it actually stick to the ground.
If you want to email me and I can give you more winery and restaurant recs, are you planning on staying in Santa Rosa the entire time?
If you're planning on being in Santa Rosa the entire time, you could hit some of the SR wineries like De Loach, Hanna, etc...they have free tastings. You could go to Korbel for tastings too, it's only about 20 minutes from SR.
As for Restaurants, I'm not sure what you're looking for, I can recco some good family style places...since I have kids that's what know LOL. There are a lot of great restaurants down town, Syrah is really good, Flavor is good as well. There are a couple good breweries down town.

Definitely coats and boots, there has been a chill to the air during the day and at night it tends to cool down. Depending on how far you want to go there are lots of great restaurants and wineries.
Some of my favorite places to eat in Santa Rosa are Jonny Garlic's, Sushi to Dai For, Jo Jo's sushi, Willi's Wine Bar is super popular... For Breakfast Hank's Creekside Cafe on 4th/Farmers is excellent. Great for hangovers
