It's snowing outside like there's some kind of Olympic medal at stake; I have an exam on Monday for which I have not studied nearly enough; I have a written assignment also due Monday for which I'm having a devil of a time getting motivated to finish; I have another paper due on the following Monday; I have an entire house to clean...
... but I'm extremely happy because I got my Slovenian klobase, zelodec, and potica in the mail yesterday and have spent a couple hours today making homemade mac 'n cheese (this time with paprika!) to accompany the klobase for dinner tonight. I'm so excited to share some of my heritage with my husband-- I wouldn't marry him until he ate some Slovenian klobase and liked it!
A respectable woman should not get this excited over sausage. But there it is. And I should be more ashamed, but I'm not!

Re: Sausage makes me happy
And that is why your DH loves you.
Uhm, hi- have we met? There is absolutely NO reason why a gal shouldn't lose her composure over sausage! You should see me when I go to the European market @ Morse's Saurkraut Farm- last time, Kyle actually had to thwart my spending. I effing loved cased meat!
Your meal sounds amazing, I can't wait to hear how it turns out!

Maybe I'll bring some Slovenian klobase to the next GTG. It's pretty strong, though-- we Eastern Europeans like our garlic!
(And yes, Kim, this is definitely one of the reasons MH loves me! nyuk nyuk nyuk)
