How To Clean a Jet Tub

I've tried soft scrub with works but is alot of work scrubbing

I've used bleach and just filled the tub with cold water and let the jets run; haven't noticed weather this helps or not

I've used comet witch I don't use anymore on anything because it leaves a residue

My tub isn't super filthy. Just looking for something that if I stay on top of things, it won't be such a workout just to clean my tub.

Re: How To Clean a Jet Tub

  • To clean the surface of my jet tub I use Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Cleaner (cuts through scum like nobody's business and does 90% of the work for you). To clean my jets I fill the tub with hot water, pour in 2 cups of bleach, and run the jets for about 20 minues. Then I empty it, refill with cold water and run it for 10 minutes. I haven't had any issues with scum or mildew in the jets.
  • There is a product at Home Depot called something like "Whirl-Out" that you can put in a tub filled with water and run the jets. We have heard that bleach is bad for the internal seals of the jets, although does kill the germies. It wasnt too pricey and has been awesome as far as getting any potential gunk out. Scrubbing Bubbles worked great too!
  • To clean the jets, I use powdered dishwasher detergent. I've read a ton about how well it cleans, while being safe & cheap! :)

  • good info. never thought to do this, although i hardly use the jets
