S/O Baby Names

What baby names DO we like?  Have we done a thread like this already?  Apologies if so and request for LB to find it ;)

Re: S/O Baby Names

  • I thought this was going to be a MUCH harder challenge, but I found it pretty quickly!

    http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/20093250.aspx

Mine have since changed a tad in the last year and a half.

Also who are half of those people?

  • Girls: Olivia Kathryn or Hannah Kathryn... we will most likely go with Olivia. I am not a fan of the spelling of Kathryn but it is how my grandmother spells her name.

Boys: The list includes Noah, Tanner, Mason, Sawyer, but we don't agree on any of these names.  Middle name will be Kent (DH's grandparents last name)

    We find out Tuesday!!!!!!!

  • LMAO! That was awhile back. I'm glad the H got over his love of "Khalil". Now H likes Nathan Drake. I'm okay with it but we'll see if/when that time comes. My favorite boy name at the moment is Josiah. I wouldn't do that to a future child though- can you imagine Jason, Jodi and Josiah J-lastname. I still like our girl name, Aerith Kherington. I also like Kate but don't like Katherine.

  • Our baby will either be Violet Emily or Luke Jackson.

Our other girl names are: Claire, Julie, Julia and Natalie

The only other boy name we seriously considered is James, but decided against it for this baby because we wanted Jackson to be the middle name (after JJ) and didn't want James Jackson, another JJ though not Jr. It would be weird. I'm pushing for Max for a second possible boy, it's my Grandpa's name.

  • I lean toward girl's names that end with an "a":

Sophia, Olivia, Victoria, Nora, Mariella, Isabella, Elisa, Emma, Ella

I also like a few others that don't end with an "a" but the only ones I can think of right now are Penelope, Elise, and Mary. I'm not crazy about Mary by itself as a first name but it's my mom's name and was my grandma's and I'd like to incorporate it somehow.

For boys I have this weird obsession with traditional/preppy southern names. It started after living in Clemson. I like "

Parker, Harrison, Hunter, Turner, Cameron --> Basically all last names as first names.

I also really like Dexter for some weird reason but could never name my kid that because of the show. Christopher has always been a favorite but DH has vetoed it because it's his name. He says he won't put his kid through always being called by his last name because there are too many people named Chris.

  • We are having a really hard time coming up with girl names. The only one we've talked about so far has been Ella, but I think I like it a lot more than Dh does.

For boys names, we like Patrick, Andrew, Matthew. Definitely a fan of the more classic boys names.

  • We're still liking William Scott for a boy. Lately I really like Claire & Emily (& probably together for that matter).

  • We haven't chosen a girl name yet, but Kennedy, Hannah, Alice and Olivia are all floating around.

As for a boy, we have a set in stone name, but it's a secret (well, for as long as I can manage to keep it that way).

Not that my opinion matters in your baby-naming decisions, but I adore the name Alice and it seems very you (I mean that in the least creepy internet friend way).

  • I'm liking the classic names more and more. Boys are hard for us to agree on anything, but I like James and Luke or Lucas. I also think Jack is really cute.

My favorite girl name for the past year has been Lillian (or Lilly, I love both versions) and I'd love to stick with the classic and use my gandmother's name (mom's side) as a middle name making it Lillian Josephine.

We are still debating on using Hudson.  It is in the running along with Wyatt and Jacob (nn Jake) but we want to see the little guy first before we decide what we are going to call him.

Only because there are so many youneek names out there!  Our poor kids are going to grow up thinking it's normal!  EGADS!

  • I guess I'm the only person who hasn't really thought about this. I have no baby names picked out at all, I figure by the time we're actually TTC I'll have changed my mind anyway.

I'm sort of like this. Also, I have this weird mental hangup like if I say a particular name then I'm stuck with it and won't be "allowed" to change my mind. Yes, I'm crazy. But it also means I haven't given it much thought because I don't want to be "stuck".

On the other hand, I really enjoyed reading the old thread and then seeing how everyone's opinions have changed. Especially those of you who have gotten pregnant or had babies since then.
