Re: Friday rants/raves?
Rant: We have dinner reservations and this really nice place tonight (which I'm dying to go to) for belated vday, and I have the worse cold and feel like canceling. To go or not to go...
No rave.
Rant: OF COURSE, after a week of feeling like it's going to happen, with nothing occurring, I get my period today, the day we're going out for a friends' birthday. Of course.
Rave: It's Friday, and we're going to MA to visit my in-laws tomorrow! We haven't seen them since January so we're really excited about it. Also, it's almost March, which means it's almost spring; the weather is getting warmer in CT, and we move five weeks from today!

Rave- I have been planning our finances and thinking about our retirement a lot lately since I have to reset my 401k at my new job. Awesome news is that I actually for the first time in my life think that I can hit our retirement goal. $25,000 a year into 401k,savings,pension relying on a little bit of Soc Sec to add to that. We should meet the projected needs. When I thought about the nearly $700,000 they say we need and my meager little 401K savings I used to get so overwhelmed. After sitting down and talking and look at all our assets and with a little stretching myself and bumping up my contribution, I think we can do it. I am sooo excited!
And I don't think I will have to work this weekend!
Rant-
I realize I am a giant dork for the above. But that's nothing new to you guys.
Rave--We're going on our honeymoon on Wednesday...10 days in Hawaii!!!!!
Rant--There is some "unusual" weather pattern that is happening in Hawaii right now where it is RAINING ALL DAY LONG EVERYDAY. Seriously? I can't even begin to comprehend what we will do if it rains the whole time. We've been saving up for this for a long time and are spending way way WAY too much money to be stuck inside. I'm trying not to stress about it because there isn't anything I can do about it. But still........
Rant - When you pay for UPS Next Day Air delivery, that means you get it the next day. Not the day after that. Stupid UPS. I loathe you.
Rave - It's Date Night Friday with hubs, yay!
Added bonus Rant - Why is my avatar a woman lifting weights? Geez Nest, I know I've been a slacker, but really? Way to rub it in

I wish I had the patience to sit down and look at planning our retirement! DH will hopefully be getting a pension (he has to stay with his current employer for 8 years to become fully vested, which he absolutely plans on doing) and I have my 401K through work. Hopefully once everything calms down, I'll be able to sit down and get a better plan put into place.

Rave: I got a new phone last weekend and it's helping me get through my work days faster. I love Pandora! I've been listening to so many nostalgic songs the past two days. It helps me days go by.
I got a haircut last night! I decided to go to a salon for the first time in my life and get it done. What a world of difference it makes! My hair is still so soft and smooth. I'm definitely going to keep going back there for all my hair needs.
Rant:
I'm getting a pimple in on my chin. It hurts so bad!
Rave #1: one of my bridesmaids had her baby last night - Charlotte Reese is happy and healthy
Rave #2: I'm expecting some reallllllly good professional-type news today!
Rant: I've been expecting said news since Tuesday, so I'm really going to cry if I don't hear today!
Rave: I'm still pregnant (this can be pretty important when you're surrounding by people having miscarriages, etc.) and I will be able to find out what it is in 7 weeks! eep! Also, I have leftover chorizo and egg in the fridge that I plan on devouring for brunch when I eventually get out of bed!...Side rant: my brother got a new job, and this is great news because he's been complaining to me about his job for MONTHS and finally got one of the jobs he wanted. YAY!
Rant: Under certain circumstances, I'm kinda bummed that the person I haven't been getting along with just raved that she is pregnant too (and will be during her 2nd wedding). I'm bitter over it, I'll have to part my ways after her wedding until I am ready to be her close friend again and it sucks that it has to be this way, but I am growing up and I'll be completely ready when she decides to
Rant: My mom is driving me nuts lately - she gave me a hard time all last week that I havent been to her house in a while (we've spent time together shopping/running errands - just not visiting at her house. Anyhow - I made a point to go to her house on Tuesday - then she spent the whole time saying "I'm sorry I dont really have a place for you to sit and visit" (she is in the middle of redoing a few rooms and has moved a lot of stuff from one room to the other etc) I just dont understand why she was so upset that I hadnt been to her house lately, when she doesnt currently have anywhere to sit and visit at her house. Makes no sense to me!
Rave: Its Friday - FINALLY. My H moves into his new office tomorrow and he is thrilled - when he's super happy, I'm super happy
Also - spring is not too far away and I cannot wait for it to be here!

Rave: #1 -- 8 days until our belated Honeymoon cruise! I've done all sorts of shopping for cruise wear and I'm just super excited about it.
#2 -- filed our taxes and for the firs time ever we could itemize our return. I feel so grown up haha. Since I claimed Single 0 and got married at the end of the year, we're getting a very large sum of money back from uncle Sam... So now we may be able to afford redoing our floors afterall!
#3 -- It's Friday!!!! I'm looking forward to a weekend of sleeping in and sipping coffee in my PJ's.
Rant: #1 -- H has been sick *all* week and I think I'm starting to get sick too. I hope it goes away before my cruise.
#2 -- 3 inches of snow last night and it's still coming down... please don't snow next Saturday! I want my plane to take off on time.
Rave: Date night tonight! Korean barbecue!
Rant: DH was away on work Wednesday night, so I didn't take my prescription sleeping pill (lots of bad dreams and sleepless nights since my mom passed away) because I don't take it if I'm alone. So yesterday I felt crappy all day because I hadn't gotten any sleep. I just wish I could sleep better without it.
Yay for all the good financial news!
Rave: H is great at finances and after doing some math this week and strategizing, we too are in pretty good shape. We are brainstorming ways to replace my income should we need that.
Rant: My twin and her family are moving. Most likely far far away. I am going to miss my niece and nephews like crazy and I am totally bummed that now that I can finally join her in the whole family life thing, our kids won't live anywhere near each other. I don't even get to walk through ONE pregnancy with her by my side. I haven't really cried much about it because I know I am just in denial right now. They'll likely move in August (her husband has been accepted into several law schools, just needs to pick one).
New rave: I got the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I submitted my resignation today, and will start my new job on or before 3/14. It's an amazing opportunity, a raise, waaay better benefits, and I'll actually have time to even consider TTC. So amazing. I didn't think I'd find a new job so quickly after I starting looking - I'm simply amazing still! Anyway, I just had to share
Rant: I had the hardest time looking for something to wear to a shower tomorrow. I am not use to this body yet. It is big pregnant like and I just feel fat and unattractive.
Rave: so happy to be off work for 2 days, it was a long week (and it was only 4 days!)
^^ Me too... and I had some kid make me feel like crap today... telling me I had a disgusting little alien creature growing inside me and I'm already showing (a 9 year old bully at the kids club I work for)
On the plus side, my mom picked my up a comfortable bright pink maternity top that I got to wear out and strut my bump... dresses will be great once it's warm enough

Raves: I got my period. I know that's opposite of most of you ladies, but H and I just aren't ready yet... and it was EIGHT DAYS LATE. The first time I've been late my entire life.
It's the weekend. I need it like crazy.... and I lost 3 pounds my first week back on WW for real!
Rants: the snow. it needs to stop. I know I live in MN and all, but seriously, enough is enough. I heard some stat on the news this week that we've had 70 days with some amount of snow accumulation this winter. The average for this point of the season is 30. So, we literally have been snowing all freaking winter. I'm ready for 50s and 60s weather.
small rant: I got my period. I admit.... we're no where near ready yet, but damn. part of me was slightly excited
