Bra question

Hi all!!! I've been crazy busy at work and am just popping in to say hi and to ask a question!

I need new bras and the only bras I have ever worn have been victoria's secret. I'm a 38 D/DD depending on the bra, and VS just isn't cutting it anymore. They make cute bras, but they aren't good for support, and the straps ALWAYS loosen after a few months of wear. I've been trying to search for new bras and am having no luck. I went to the Bali/Playtex/Wonderbra/whatever else outlet tonight and tried on probably 20 bras. They all make you look pointy and that just isn't happening! I want underwire, shaping (so that there is no cone shape!), and demi cut. Suggestions please!!!

  • I'm on the smaller side (large B on a good day) and I just recently bought a Wonderbra that I love. It lifts the girls back up to where they used to be pre-baby, and doesn't give them that cone shape you're talking about. I bought it at Kohl's.

  • I hadn't been a VS supporter for a while, but stopped in looking for things for my photoshoot in May.  With that, I was introduced to the Incredible Collection.  I love love LOVE it!  It's got a thicker band, and this particular bra line doesn't have "adjustables"... it's just one elastic-type strap over the shoulder... so no slipping! Like Martha Stewart... it's a good thing!  It's also got a wonderful, "no-cone" thing goin on- always a plus!

  • I'm a 36 DD, and have not shopped at VS for bras in a long time... I've had luck with Wacol, Chantelle. It is worth going to get a really good bra fitting, at Nordstroms, Bloomingdales,or a bra specialty shop. It can be an investment, but it's so worth it. Once I got fitted, bought a few, I now keep an eye out at Marshalls/TJ Maxx for bras in my size, brands I like and have had a lot of luck finding what I was looking for.

  • in my personal opinion a demi cup is never supportive enough. Even in my size (C cup) it always ends up making it look like I have four b00bs, know what I mean?

I shop for bras at  Kohl's for the most part - they have good  sales and I really like the selection...I kind of gave up on fancy bras a while ago...I go for the right shape, support, and comfort.

Also, I second what Sam said above  - it is probably a good idea to get a real bra fitting, and see what they suggest.

  • Sometimes I get them from my Avon lady as they carry my size (36 DDD).

I also can get them at Macy's, Kohl's and Nordstrom's.
