Summer is coming!!

I signed Taylor up for her first swimming lessons!  They start next Wednesday.  As I'm going through her clothes, I realize she doesn't have a bathing suit.  So I go out today searching for one that will not clash with her printed swim diapers.  I found something at Target that will clash but there are swim shorts with the set so we'll use that for now.

I searched high and low online for tops to match her swim diapers.  I did find some (one is a halter top, and the other is a rashguard top, the ones with the sleeves), after I ordered two white ones from Target.com.

The diapers and tops that match are i Play brand.  They have boys and girls swim diapers and tops.  The coolest thing I saw though (and the point of my post, lol) is that they also have swimsuits (not sure for boys, since I wasn't looking) with the swim diaper built in.  Had I known this, I probably wouldn't have bought the diapers around Christmas time but I will be picking up another suit or two later this year.

You can find them at www.hugsandhissyfits.com, www.bambinomountain.com and www.playoutdoors.com....and amazon.

Hopefully this is helpful to you guys!

Re: Summer is coming!!

  • I've gotten Ben the swim diapers that look like a regular suit.  It's really convenient!
  • Zulily had the iPlay swimsuits on their website a week or two ago.  I ordered Helen two swimsuits...still waiting for them to arrive.  I like the idea of the built-in diaper, especially for someone who I hope will be potty-training (she's back to not caring about using the potty again).

  • Was just telling DH I needed to research what would be a good swim diaper for Caroline. I'd like something as easy as the BG 3.0. What seems to be the best for a one year old? We're going to be in pools, lakes and the ocean a lot!
  • I love the concept of the i Play ones...where they are sewn into the bathing suit.  I have a couple of XL reg swim diapers by them and that is what we are using for lessons.  Fun that they have matching tops too.  I'll let you know how they work out with Taylor

  • Seriously?  You are worried about her bathing suit clashing with her swim diapers for swim class?  This post cracks me up!

And when we did swim lessons with Ridley, we followed the advice of others on here and just used the outside cover of the BG 3.0.  Nothing is going to hold the pee in and the covers work fine if there is a poop situation (which we luckily never encountered).  It didn't make any sense to spend the extra money to me.

  • Thanks for posting this!  #1 I appreciate the web sites for swim suits because Feisty is going to need one eventually and #2 you've given me hope that it really will be summer eventually.  That's a bit hard to believe today with more snow falling, but I will have faith!

I was thinking of doing this with the BG covers, but I read on one of their sites that the PUL material isn't good in chlorine situations.?? I was planning on using the BG for the lakes etc though.

Caroline already has a swimsuit, I just need a diaper to contain the poop like kclouts said.

I don't think that chlorine is good for the PUL, but we just set aside one diaper to be used in pools.  That seemed to work for us.
