I got summoned for jury duty in the mail on Thursday in my town for March 15th...no big deal. I knew it was going to happen, I got the questionnaire a couple months ago.
Today, I get the mail and I have ANOTHER jury duty summons...this one for the state for March 16th and it says it is mandatory I show up...no number to check if I am supposed to come in. And it says I will be on call for 90 days if I don't get called for the first case.
2 summons?? How is that possible?
Also, I am writing my thesis right now for grad school. Supposed to be finished with it in May. I am not a full time student, but I have to do research for it during the day in a school district...would this be grounds to be excused for now? Especially because I would be on call for 90 days with the state one.
Re: Jury Duty Help!
I do not know how it works, especially with the two. here is a good site tho:

Good luck!

Is there a number listed that you can call to confirm both summons? Is one for state and one for your town/county? If you ask, you may be able to ask to defer until after you're finished with school.
