East Coast Nesties! (Anniversary Ideas needed)
The post below got me thinking...I have been trying to think of a place to go for our 1 year anniversary, somewhere for just Friday/Saturday nights that won't break the bank but still fun within a 3-4 hr drive of DC. Any ideas? TIA!!!

Re: East Coast Nesties! (Anniversary Ideas needed)
If you decide to go south I would look at the Shenandoah Valley, Williamsburg/Yorktown, or Virginia Beach.
In the Valley there are all kinds of vineyards and little historic towns. Luray Caverns is pretty cool, too, if you get that far south or even Charlottesville.
Williamsburg/Yorktown of course has all the historic elements, Busch Gardens, Jamestown. If you stay at Great Wolf Lodge too they have an indoor water park.
Virginia Beach has all the tourist things along the water and lots of restaurants.
If you pick any one of these options let me know and I'll try to help you with places to go or good restaurants.
April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
I have done ENDLESS research on places within driving distance for our anniversary! We settled on the Finger Lakes, which is a little farther than you want to drive. You could do any of the beaches. Or the Chesapeake Bay area (I've heard St Michael's is fabulous). You could do a Philly weekend. Or come up my way and tour Amish Country, visit Hershey and eat lots of yummy food! Or a NYC weekend would be fun too! Good luck

I agree with Lindsay! Those are all good ideas!
The poconos are also pretty popular for romantic trips too!
Lancaster County and City have a lot of neat things to do, and nice places to stay.
I second St. Michael's, MD!!! It is one of our favorite overnight get away spots. The town is quaint and beautiful, it is on the water, gorgeous B&B's...I honestly would have gotten married there is H didn't think that it was too far to ask our guests to travel...can't wait to hear where you guys finally decide to go!!
