Morning all! How was the weekend? We got a lot of little projects done around the house this weekend, which is always nice. Little things go a long way to making a space look finished.
We're currently couch-less until at least this weekend. My brother was able to come and pick up our old couch this weekend, but the new one doesn't come until next weekend. It made more sense to us to get rid of the couch early then have to deal with 2 sets of furniture at the same time, so, we've got a truly DIY seating arrangement right now: a plastic wrapped bale of insulation, and stacks of foam floor tiles.
Did anyone do anything exciting?

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Re: Good Morning!
Morning. Raynes I sometimes think DIY seating is the most comfy.
Nothing exciting here. I have been taking care of 3 sick babies (yes this includes DH) all weekend. Why are men such big babies when they are sick? I have gotten zero sleep, and big surprise, I am now getting it and contemplating leaving work early. I just talked to my boss to have a peer cover a meeting a was supposed to give today, but don't think I will make it until then.
Anyway, I am off to finish up some files before I possibly leave for the day. Have a great day everyone.
Well, I guess no couch encourages you to not laze around and make use of your new home gym!
Nothing too exciting here. I had another driving lesson which went well. The theory test is tomorrow, and then I can actually book the practical driving exam. I just want this to be over, it's such a pain. But at least I'll feel a lot more comfortable when I'm driving in Australia in a few weeks!
I guess on a somewhat exciting note, we did spend some time thinking through our travel plans for the year. We planned out our Oz activities more and tentatively outlined where else we want to go. Yay! I love planning trips!

Saturday morning I had a monitoring appointment with the RE. That afternoon we went to see all the Oscar nominated animated short films and The King's Speech. All of them were awesome. We usually go see the shorts for free at the National Archives, but somehow I missed it this year, so I was glad that the independent theater was showing them.
Sunday, I got up late and ran to church with no breakfast. Then when I got home, we left immediately to run errands to the pet store, Wal-mart, B.J. Warehouse and groceries. I never ate anything, so by the time we were done three hours later, I was quite on edge. I got in a huge fight with Jim and sulked for the rest of the afternoon. I apologized and he promised not to let me go that long without food again. We're good.
I have an appointment for our third IUI this morning at 10:45. Wish us luck that this is the one that works.

I am stuck at home today until some of this ice melts. DH went ahead of me down our hill and his brakes just never took. Thankfully, he eventually stopped and could turn around in a dirt driveway.
This weekend was sort of busy for us. We tooled around in Babies R' Us for a bit and went to lunch. We also checked out an electronics place that is going out of business. Their prices were still really high, so we might try later. We were hoping to get a video camera or a small tv for the bedroom so we could move that TV.
We also started moving furniture around the house this weekend. I'm hunting for a good slipcover for our hand-me-down furniture in the basement. We'd like to bring up the loveseat and move the recliners from our set to the basement. I didn't realize slipcovers were so stinkin expensive. Hopefully we can find a good sale.
Good Morning!
I spent all day Saturday passed out on the couch and seem to have this cold just about kicked. Wish me luck with that! I spent all day yesterday trying to figure out how we can try to buy a home/condo/anything! Now that we've got TTC plan in place, I figure we've got about a year to decide what the heck we're going to do. As we live in a 1 bedroom place right now, we'll definitely need to move before children appear in the picture. But, there's questions about where (Toronto or Ottawa) and what we're going to do about jobs. The Ottawa market continues to be awful, so I probably wouldn't be able to find anything there - and that means becoming a SAHM, which I'm pretty sure I don't want (unless I can take up a second career as a gardening/cooking blogger - but really, I don't see that happening any time soon).
The prospect of taking myself off the job market is scary. Anyone else in that situation?

Good luck, rebaann! Fingers and toes and everything else crossed for you.
Weekend was uneventful--I got in two very awesome runs. I don't known when I got my speed back, but I think I really have to give weightlifting a nod. Yesterday was beautiful, so my 6.5 mile run was really enjoyable.
Today starts the waiting game to see if we're getting furloughed after March 4 or if there's an extension for two weeks. Financially we're not stressed about the possibility of a shutdown, but it still wouldn't be a good thing.
Katsblaze - Hope you and your 3 babies all feel better soon.
Kaesha - The plan was/is for me to become a SAHM. As much as I want it and know it'll be way more fulfilling than sitting in a cubicle for 8hrs a day, the thought scares me.
I didn't end up going to my moms, they were supposed to get snow up there and I didn't want to risk not being able to get home. Instead I was a total beast and got it done around the house. Did a ton of laundry, cleaned, baked cookies, ran errands, and went for a run. Looking forward to this week moving along.

Reba, I get the same way when I'm hungry. Derek knows not to let me stay hungry for too long!
And, good luck with the turkey baster!! (I say that in the lightest possible humour) 3rd time's a charm, right?
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Reba, I'll be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts, vibes, prayers and everything else I've got your way!
This weekend was nice and low key. I got a shorter run in on Saturday. I had wanted to do 8-10 miles but I just wasn't feeling it. Then we had church and then watch UFC with friends.
Yesterday I went to a bridal shower for a friend. I rocked the games and came home with 4 prizes! There were lots of prizes.
I just got done 6.5 miles on the treadmill and now I'm just getting ready to head off to work. I hope today goes well. I'm working floors that I haven't had to before and today is CD1 and I've got some killer cramps going on right now.
Have a great day everyone.
Good Morning Ladies!
Good Luck Rebaann, I hope this is the one for you!!
I am still feeling pretty awful but it seems to be getting a little bit better day by day. My first appointment is tomorrow so I am anxious, nervous, excited all at the same time and I am sure this day is going to drag on.
We had a pretty low key (too low key) weekend. We got nothing accomplished but a lot of resting. I can't wait to have energy again so I can get things done around my house.
I hope everyone has a great day and I am thinking a lot about the Aug 09 ladies today!
Good luck, Rebaann!
I spent a good part of my weekend trying to kick this cold. Friday night I ventured out to watch my little cousin's softball game. It was fun and good to see my family, even though her team lost by the slaughter rule.
Saturday I barely got off the couch. I slept a lot and it seems to have helped somewhat. Yesterday I went out to watch Black Swan before the Oscars. Then I cleaned the house and folded laundry while watching the red carpet and the Oscars.
Reba, good luck!!
kaesha, I've also given thought to the prospect of being a SAHM. It's not a first choice for me right now, but if we decided to have a second kid soon and daycare would cost more than my salary for example, I've thought about doing something like teaching piano.
V and I visited our new house on Saturday with my ILs (surprise, they actually showed up!). Now that we have measurements of the rooms, I'm excited to start shopping for stuff.
Sunday we attended a first birthday party. It was fun, but boy do those kids have a lot of toys... having lived in a small space for so long, I've become pretty minimalist, and I'm kind of worried about people buying our kid lots of stuff.
Anyway we also took advantage of a groupon and had a nice date night at an Italian place.
Home sick today, again. Ugh.

Hey ladies! I just finished watching the Oscars, I had to avoid all news sources and social networking all day today so I didn't know the results, since they were rebroadcasting it here at 8pm.
E and I escaped to the beach for the weekend and it was great and relaxing. We always come back from a weekend away liking each other just a little more. Back to work today, I'm settling more into my job and it's going really well, so I'm happy.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
Good luck, Reba!
Katsblaze, I hope your babies are feeling better soon.
My weekend consisted of a visit to the ER at the Children's Hospital. My poor Izaac has Scarlet Fever and is now on antibiotics. He was really uncomfortable last week and had this horrible rash across his face that would be gone in the morning then throughout the day spread from under his little nose all the way up to his eyes. Luckily, antibiotics have already started working and he's starting to get back to normal.
Other than that we didn't really do much. Russ took Gibson skating for the first time and he hated it. He whined and cried the whole time and just begged to go home. Then yesterday I got my hair done which feels great. I was trying to grow it out a bit but it's at the annoying stage so I got some extensions a few weeks ago and just finally had them shaped and trimmed yesterday. I love that I have 2 friends that are hairdressers.
I hope everyone has a good Monday.
Good luck Reba!!
I had an extremely relaxing weekend. We laid around for a good portion of the weekend watching movies. I also finished a book and took a long bubble bath.
Rebaann - keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you this morning!
kats - hope you all feel better soon! being sick stinks, especially when it's the whole family!
I had a pretty good weekend - got TONS accomplished at the house. lots of laundry done, house cleaned, and things actually put away instead of being shoved in closets and bedroom.
the only bad thing that happened was that AF showed up Saturday afternoon. stupid stupid AF. so we'll be going onto cycle 6! we had friends over for dinner Saturday night, and I successfully made my first ever lasagna. it was delicious!
yesterday, we went to our friend Kaycie & Adam's house, who just got engaged two weeks ago. I am super duper excited to help Kaycie plan and have already sent her all of my spreadsheets from our wedding. I also got all my homework done at their house, and they cooked a fab meal for us as well.

Kaesha, I totally think you could make a career out of Dates and Quinces... I stalk your blog, and actually made crepes this morning because I couldn't take craving them any longer... And I used my MIL's homemade plum jam and apricot preserves so I could get the bonus points.
We spend two hours in whole foods on Saturday and then went to dinner and a movie with some other coaching couples... We saw "Hall Pass." It was pretty funny, in that dumb humor "Hot Tub Time Machine"/"Couples Retreat" kind of way.
That's what we call it, too.

Reba - good luck! I hope this is it for you.
I had a really nice weekend but very little rest. On Friday we went out to dinner and then made a quick trip to get a gift for our friends birthday party that night. We only stayed at the party for a few hours.
On Saturday we had our baby shower with DH's side of the family and friends. It was supposed to rain all day but it never did although it was pretty cold towards the end of the night. I had so much fun and baby got a ton of stuff. It was a little overwhelming but definitely appreciated.
Yesterday we went to buy her dresser and ended up going to 2 Ikea's to get the one we wanted, but we did find it. I spent the rest of the afternoon removing tags and putting her clothes aside to wash everything. I'm exhausted today but I feel we accomplished a lot.
Today I'm at work and then we have Childbirth class tonight. I may take a nap at lunch to make it through the rest of the day. Hope you all have a great day.
Reba--sending tons of luck your way!
I had a girls' weekend in Boston with my three best friends from high school. We have taken on planning our ten year high school reunion, so we set up a facebook page, invited all the classmates that we can online and figured out how to track down the rest, debated our venue options, and got the ball rolling!
We also ate great food...a fabulous brunch place Saturday, then Ethiopian food Saturday night followed by dessert and drinks, and then brunch Sunday morning...luckily we all love eating. But back to healthy today.
Oh, and I rolled my ankle yesterday too and it is sore today. I just finished a 3.5 mile run and even though it isn't swollen it is definitely hurting...so I am icing and hoping that it gets better fast since I have started my training schedule for my next half..
