Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
Why is it that some people feel they need to announce to the world (or the interwebs) that they are TTC?
Yay, you're having sex without protection... GOOOO YOU!
Re: FB/TN Annoyance
FB, yes I can understand that being annoying. I don't think I've had anyone announce they're TTC on mine yet, but I'm not counting it out yet.
But on the nest? Really? I share a LOT more on the nest than I do on FB and I like to think I would tell you guys whenever we decide to start trying. Maybe not a big announcement, but it would probably come up that we're entering that stage of life.
I agree with this. On FB, that would be really weird. On the Nest, I think it makes sense. It's like how I used the Knot to talk about my wedding, so I didn't bore all my IRL friends with non stop wedding talk. I would think the Nest (esp the GP board) would be somewhere you could talk about TTC, so you're not creeping your IRL friends out with TTC talk.
Totally agree. We plan to tell very few people IRL so I feel like this will be a place that I can come for advice, concerns, and general venting.
See, I wouldn't even mind if someone started a thread "Wow, pretty freaked out that we started TTC for real." NBD in nestland for me.
ETA: I meant on the local. Or GP. Whichever board you have your group of efriends.
I agree as well. Totally not appropriate for FB but here we're all in similar places in our lives so it makes sense to talk about it. The TTC boards here can be a HUGE source of information if you're having any kinds of issues too.
