WW Accountability Week 2

It was an epic week of denial, as I went out to eat three times during my "first week" of WW.

Also, I can blame it on the snowstorm and being stuck at home, but the reality is I also only made it to the gym on Monday.

I went 5 points over my allotment for the week, but can put the blame square on:

1. Eating at Wendy's and Taco Bell for lunch. (As an excuse, though, I did assume when I pulled into the TB drive thru that there would be a low-fat menu like there is in CA. There is not. However, that shouldn't have forced me to order the $5 box.)

2. Choosing apple pie instead of angel food cake with fresh berries at my parents' Oscar Party last night.

3. Not working out two more times. I would have had a lot of leftover activity points if I had.

4. Eating four biscuits stuffed with butter and jam for breakfast Sunday... a splurge DH brought home from the grocery store. Two would have completely sufficed.

So, I'm not expecting any loss this week, but I can ID some goals to keep me on track that should be pretty simple: Eating out once this week (on my "splurge" day), and working out at least twice.

I am proud of myself for tracking (when it would have been much easier to turn a blind eye), for turning down a gourmet cupcake during a 4-hour meeting on Friday, for having a bowl of fresh fruit for breakfast on Saturday, and for doing two sets of 15 lunges on Monday (if I had an exercise nemesis, it would be lunges).

  • Hi Steph! You can do it! Do you pack your lunch for work or do you always eat out? If you don't, could you start making lunch or make Matt do it for you ;) ? Anyway, hi & I miss you!

I miss you too!!!! I might have to hop a flight to SF one of these days. :)

I do pack my lunch, four times a week. I use Wednesday as my "splurge" day to eat whatever I want. Typically I pack a large salad with beans (for protein),  a couple apples, some Baked Lays, and a couple ounces of nuts and dried fruit for an afternoon snack. I also keep a baggie of Kashi's "shredded wheat" in my purse for a midmorning snack.

This week, though, I had my Wednesday splurge; then had a snow day Thursday, so Matt and I went to an Indian food buffet. Then, on Friday, I noticed a funky smell from the beans in my salad before work, so I didn't pack a lunch.

Basically, I broke the system. :)

  • I will let you in on a secret...I plan on going back to WW this Friday. I think going to a meeting my help me and then switch over to the online version.

  • I did get with counting points during the week but not weekend, but no weight loss. I succumbed to Girl Scout Cookies. I didn't "work out" at the gym, but did Bikram (Hot) Yoga 4 times last week and feel good. We managed to eat most of the cookies Tongue Tied so that should help for the rest of the week.

I do want to get back to my gym routine especially now that it's actually sunny in the mornings instead of pitch black, but I think I'll wait until I use up my yoga classes (I bought the Groupon of 10). The only class I can make is 6:30-8:00 so by the time I get home and eat it's about 8:45. Then with all the other stuff I have to do to get ready for the next day I don't get to bed early enough for the gym the next day. I actually miss running and working out although the yoga has been good too.

  • At least you're being accountable for your food choices and that's a huge step in itself. I admit that I turned a blind eye this weekend w/out having internet access Fri & Sat.And since my MIL doesn't have a scale, mine is packed up somewhere, I can only hope for a loss.

  • Well, I haven't been tracking my points for the entire day.  I'll track points during the day while I'm at work and when it's easy to control what I eat.  When I get home, that's another story.  I am proud of myself for not attacking the cake that DH bought from Safeway the other day.  I keep thinking about shoveling it in my mouth, but that might not be the best idea.

I am happy to announce that I'm down 6 pounds from last week.  Only because my scale was off last week because the batteries needed to be replaced.  So in reality I probably only lost 1-2 pounds.  Now I'm only up 6 pounds since my wedding in September.
