Okay, I'm watching the Oscars, had a little too much wine already, and so I wonder if anyone is watching with me?
PS, Cate Blanchett looks like a Transformer.

My silly Lily is almost 4.

Re: Oscars, anyone?
Good plan, Nicole. Ugh.
Semi-interesting note from a TV addict (shameful, I know, but I really don't care), James Franco's mom was on General Hospital with him for a while. I totally forgot about that until they did the "moms" thing. My silly Lily is almost 4.
1. Kate - update me on GH:)
2. I LOVE Mila Kunis. She looked amazing and I have such a girl crush on her..
Alzi, I'm a day or so behind, but I finished S/B's wedding and it was really great. And I generally can't stand Sonny, so y'know. They replayed the Clink-Boom Lily scene almost exactly. Alexis and Jax toasted champagne glasses in a bar, sort of commiserating their various relationships, while Brenda got in the Limo, and boom. Luke had to hold Sonny back, etc., and that was the end of the episode. I need to see 2/25 which is the reaction plus Franco's return.
OscarsI missed the intro to whatever the hell this Remix thing is that they're doing right now, but it's hilarious. Esp. JT. That was funny.

My guess is Brenda is alive and it was just a flashback....keep me posted:)
Oh yeah, she's alive. It's already in the previews; it was Sam in the limo, who also miraculously survived (love the reality of soaps). Brenda has been kidnapped.
And, OMG, Jude Law and Robert Downy Jr. Yum.

I watched, sorry I wasn't live-threading it with you Kate.
I didn't think Anne and James were the best choice for hosts. Their chemistry was a bit lacking. Overall the show was kind of a bore, but still had some good points. Yay for The King's Speech, great movie. I really wanted Hailee Steinfeld to pull out a win, but Melissa Leo was still really good. I love Colin Firth even more now.
As far as Cate and her dress, its not something I would ever wear, but if anyone can pull off haute couture, its her. I thought Sandra looked fab (although the butt bow was a bit odd), as did Helen Mirren and Halle Berry. Oh, and Hailee Steinfeld looked so age-appropriate and adorable.
Anne did look great.
As far as Melissa Leo, I don't know why she was surprised, she won most of the pre-Oscar stuff. Although she took out those weird ads in the trades that could have killed her, so maybe she was just happy she didn't screw herself over. Lauren, rent the movie Frozen River, you'll like it. She was nominated for Best Actress for that 2 or so years ago.
Ahhh, I was so disappointed with Franco and Anne's hosting. They did lack chemistry, and the whole thing was so awkward.
But yay for the King's Speech!

Franco needs a drug intervention right before he went on, apparently. Also, his tuxedos weren't so great.
Amy Adams - the hair, the makeup, the dress, the necklace - something needed to be pulled back. Or maybe a lower neckline? IDK. There was too much "rat's nest" near her face going on.
I loved Scar Jo's dress, as well as Marissa Tomei's gown. So beautiful. Cate Blanchett looked like someone should needlepoint a profile on her chest and call it a cameo. Did not like. Dame Helen looked amazing, as usual.
Halle, JHud, Oprah and Anne Hathaway all looked flawless. I was surprised to see Celine, but at least she didn't AW it up.
They need to start giving people other than Randy Newman awards, seriously.
Yay for Natalie Portman! Loved the gown, the speech, and the performance was certainly worthy of the award. Phenomenal.
