Flashback to the 80's

I don't recall if we've done this before, if so I'm sorry and let's do it again.

My inspiration for this post came from the movie Easy A.  We watched it on Sat and it was pretty freaking funny.  I love Olive's sense of humor.  Anyhow in the movie she makes references to 80's movies.  So the question of the day is:

What is your favorite 80's movie?

I have two favorites.  Sixteen candles and Jen will agree with me on Can't Buy Me Love.  I can watch these over and over and over again.  I <3 the 80's.

  • I love the 80's too!  I also love Can't Buy Me Love.  That leather outfit?  Too funny.

I don't really have a favorite movie, of any genre.  I just like a lot of them.  Big Smile

  • Anything John Hughes. I was all about the brat pack. But I think specifically because of my love for Andrew McCarthy, I'd have to say Pretty in Pink.

I am so excited because Best Buy carries the DVD for $9.99.  I'm buying it with the gift card Richar'ds cousins gave us for our wedding gift.

  • Don't flame me, but I hate most of those movies listed above.  In the 80s, we were big into buddy cop movies (Lethal Weapon, Beverly Hills Cop).  I guess I missed the memo that you were supposed to watch them as a pre-teen or teen.  Cuz now when I see them, I think they're cheesy.  I don't think I saw Breakfast Club until college (circa 1996).  Still haven't seen 16 Candles or Pretty in Pink all the way through.  I don't like Molly Ringwald one bit.

But DH loves EVERY 80s movie ever made, including low budget no-names like Rad and The Wraith (w/ Charlie Sheen).  Go figure.  Apparently opposites do attract...
