Downtown restaurant suggestions

I'm planning a bachelorette party and need some ideas for downtown restaurants. Looking for something hip, but not too fancy or pricey. We'll probably go out on 4th street after so a restaurant in that general area would be nice. Motherhood keeps me away from downtown these days, so I'm out of the loop. Thanks for your help!

Re: Downtown restaurant suggestions

  • I am not at all an expert on what's hip, but I really like Garrido's.

One of my party girl friends likes Parkside--I've only been there once, and our group shared a bunch of appetizers, so I don't know if entrees would be very expensive.

Ranch 616 is good, I had a fun dinner there with a group of friends.  As a bonus, it's right next door to Star Bar. (And pretty close to a bunch of other bars.)

  • Thank you so much for the suggestions!
  • I went out for a ladies night out there and I really like 219 West.  But you'll definitely need to contact them ahead of time and maybe reserve a space for you or else good luck finding a table.  If you can take some pedi-cabs or don't mind walking Z-Tejas down there has a really cool area.  Another place which is a bit of a walk is Serrano's on Red River and a really cool atmosphere.  All of these places are lower cost but nice.
  • i second 219 West and Z Tejas. A few other suggestions: Max's Wine Dive (disclaimer: I have only been there for brunch but it was delicious.), Malaga for tapas, Taverna, Manuels, Iron Cactus, Maiko and Kenichi for sushi. I've heard good things about Moonshine but I've never been there. There's also a Melting Pot and Pf Changs in that area.
