Do you think we'll ever leave the nest?

I joined the knot 7 years ago. Been married for almost 5 years this summer.

I'm still here.

Do you think we'll just stay forever?

I know some of ya'll have been around as long as me, if not longer.

Guess it's not just for newlyweds!

Just a random post. Please forgive my randomness today. I have nowhere to be for the rest of the day, the DH is working till late tonight, I'm trying to relax, and I've got a laptop with unlimited time to play on it! :)

Re: Do you think we'll ever leave the nest?

  • I come and go randomly.  I think I give it up, and then I start wondering how the regulars are doing and pop back in (as I'm sure you could tell these past few weeks!)

It seems to correlate for me with how busy I am at work and at home.  The less busy, the more I stay caught up!

  • I must have joined around the same time as you!

I took a break for a while and really enjoyed it.  I even changed my password to a bunch of random things like ;alkjfpoiug;qokn;gvoiij[oij to make it harder to come back.  But had a burning question I just had to ask about.  I don't even remember what it was.  I caved to the addiction and came back.

I can just see us in 60 years asking about which nursing homes are the best and complaining about how our kids don't visit us.

  • But....then what would I do at work?  Actually......work??  Stick out tongue

Maybe they should create another spin-off site for us called "thenursinghome.com" :)

This made me laugh out loud.

I think I would nest less if I was more challenged at work. I don't nest at home, just at work when I'm bored. Which is a lot. Maybe a new job would cure the nest problem ...

  • I imagine I'll come on less once we had kids, but for now I like to pop on and see what's happening.  I think this is a good resource for lots of different things (not just marriage).

    P.S. theemptynest.com is a great idea!

I love it!  I wish I was that clever.  You know the nest gods are probably reading this and thinking it's the next big thing.  You should buy the domain name and sell it to them for a profit.  Devil

  • i see no reason to leave. where else can you ask a question about... ANYTHING and get as much info/feedback as you want?

it's good for my ADD too when i'm at work. between FB and the nest, it keeps me from jumping out a window from the boredom.
