Re: baptism gift recs?
My favorite gift from May's baptism was the one Clint got for her- it's from Hallmark, a book called "On your baptism day" and it has prayers, fill in the blanks for memories from that day, etc.
We also received several crosses and children's Bibles.
For my nephew's baptism we went to a Christian book store and got a "child of God" plaque with really interesting colors and designs for his room.
[I've never given or received baptism gifts, so no personal experience.]
Maybe a book with Bible stories for small children?
ETA: between showers and gifts after Nate was born, he was given 3 "Baby's First Bible" type books and 1 baby blue tiny New Testament. Then, the church gave him another baby blue tiny New Testament when he was born. They all have his name on the inscription page, so we can't regift them or anything... We don't really read the first Bible ones much because each story is on a single page. He gets bored with that. I would have loved for him to be given a collection of these or something like them.
I would say a cross or a bible.
I still have the cross that my godmother gave me, it hangs on the wall in our bedroom,
