should I call my dr?

First let me say that I am just wondering what you would do if you were me, not asking for medical advice...

I am on my second cycle after stopping hormonal birth control. My first cycle was ridiculously perfect (28 days, ovulated on the 14th day. Period was really heavy for 5 days). This cycle started on the 25th day and sure did start with a bang...the first night I woke up in the middle of the night with AWFUL cramps, a massive fever and the worst d-train i've ever had. I was ok the next day (still a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen, not really cramps) but the flow has been SUPER light and not really even bloody..just kind of brown. (sorry). Today is the 4th day of my cycle and I haven't had a bowel movement since that first night (and I'm a regular girl) and the pressure is still really there.

Since I don't know what normal is because this is only my second cycle off of the pill (I was on seasonale for 7 years) I'm not sure if this is something that should be expected, or if it's something I should call my dr. about.

What would you do?

Re: should I call my dr?

  • I would probably take a laxative and wait it out.  Call the doc next month if you have the same issue.

    That's what I would do.

    ETA:  What is a D-train?

  • Give the doc a call and see what they say. You can ask questions to the nurse and they'll give you more accurate advice on if it is anything to be concerned about or not and whether or not they think you should come in. No charge to ask the nurse or doc a question and it'll give you peace of mind.
