I totally got ambushed....
We haven't made any friends since we moved here, which is not a big deal but I am kind of worried about what happens when DH leaves for 6 months in May. I would like someone to hang out with and since I work and live with my uncle I don't always want to do everything with him. So DH met a guy at the gym and he invited us out for coffee on Saturday with him and his FI. I was really excited about meeting her, because DH really liked the guy and they are close to our age. Turns out they decided to use our coffee meet up as an excuse to sell us on their network marketing business. I was less than amused and poor DH felt so bad, he had no idea. He said he knew the guy was all about his business but he didn`t realize she was the same way. Ugh back to `friend-searching`, I sound so pathetic.

Re: I totally got ambushed....
I am so sorry that happened! I know how hard it is to make good friends when you move, we have lived here for almost 3 years and have very few friends here, and I have made those through work. I agree with what Misa said, if you're not college-age and don't have kids, it's tough. Where we live is rather clique-ish too, lots of people are originally from here (or somewhere in the state) and sort of give us the side eye because we aren't originally from here.
Hang in there!

I moved about an hour south when I moved in with DH nearly three years ago. Aside from neighbors, I don't know anyone in our town. I find myself meeting up with BFF halfway or trading off driving. Meeting people as an adult is hard.
We recently participated in a series of classes held through the City and met some nice people, but they weren't long-term friendship types given our life stage and age differences.
I'd love to have a couple friends who live close by.
I'm so sorry! I've lived here for several years and have very few friends. Most of the time I'm hanging out with work folks because that's all we ever have time to do!
Good luck!
I can relate to everything you all said. At least in Edmonton I already had other girls to hang out with because of being a football wife. Here I work with all guys which makes it hard to "make friends" in the office. My Uncle's gf lives at the house with us but she is very needy and I find it hard to relate to her. Unfortunately, it sounds like we're all in the same boat!
Holly- We should meet up before baby comes!
