I have had a certain pair of panties for a long time; they were never very cute but just comfy and were secretly my favorite. Eventually they turned into period panties (we all have those, right?). Jason has always hated these underwear, they aren't cute, aren't flattering, and the longer I had them, the more worn out they got...yes, I'm painting a lovely picture for you. Anyway, I had them on today, went to pull them down when I was getting into the shower, and snap! The elastic broke on the waist band. I finally had to throw them away
. I jokinly sang "Ave Maria" and Jason said, "Thank god, I've almost thrown them away so many times when you were at work." Next thing he wants to throw out is my ratty a$$ bathrobe that I've had since I was 18 that has holes in it, but I refuse to let that go just yet.
So is there any piece of clothing, panties, bra, tshirt, pajama pants, etc that you insist on keeping even though it should have been tossed a long time ago?

Re: RIP panties
Several lol... my cheerleading sox that you can see through on the bottom (I can't get rid of them and they're cute green paw prints on the side). SEVERAL hoodies... all my college hoodies are TRASHED. I just threw out my HS hoodie that was see through in spots and had many holes and def. didn't fit well lol. And I have this green Banana Republic v-neck lime green tank that is like 7 years old and I refuse to throw it away. It's not the same color, it's kinda too small and I'm pretty sure there's a few bleach spots, but I love it lol.
I also have a few dresses that I'll probably never fit in again that I can't toss like my graduation dress, LOOOVE this dress, it's baby blue from Banana Republic, I had to get it 4 sizes too big to fit my boobs and then tailored everywhere else lol. It was almost 200 bucks and I refuse to toss it.
Don't even get me started on shoes.

I apparently have alot of clothes like that. DH is always telling me to get rid of this or that bc i've had it since i was 16. and he is right. 7.5 years ago.
I have a few pairs of undies like that. haha. DH likes to rip them off of me (while we are having bedroom fun)- that way I have to throw them away. He is so mean.
This, exactly!!! I go through and donate stuff I don't wear regularly (I mean how else do you make room for the new????
).
DH on the other hand had several shirts left from high school (circa 1996) that were thread-bare and ratty. I told him to consider what to keep - never said to get rid of it - but it eventually left our house. He had some *horrible* long sleeved plaid shirts (they can be cool; these were not) when we started dating that MIL got him. I tucked them under the bed (out of sight out of mind) and donated when he hadn't realized they were missing 6 months later. Don't worry - I showed them to him before I donated them.
Oh, and I explained that he *might* want to get rid of the silk boxers given to him by his high school girlfriend that were also barely hanging together by a thread. I got his 2 new pair of silk boxers to replace them.
