Baby Shower Games?

I know about the obvious - guess the mom's tummy size, never say baby, etc - but what games have you played at a baby shower that you thought was fun/different/funny?  For one, I think we'll do something like:  Name That Baby Tune - Set a timer and see how many songs your guests can jot down with the word BABY in the title.

Re: Baby Shower Games?

  • Is it a boy/girl shower? This game could probably work either way, but I could see how it'd be more entertaining if it were guys.

FTR, I've never seen this firsthand; a co-worker told me about it and showed me pictures that were highly entertaining.

They split the men into two teams and basically it was a race. Each team had a baby doll and there was a clothesline strung up with all the basics, diaper, clothes, booties, hat, bib, etc. I think it was some kind of relay, but basically each person had to get one item at a time and put it on the baby doll. I guess the boys got pretty wild and competitive and pretty abusive to the poor baby dolls.

An added bonus was that the clothes lines also served as decorations.

  • My girlfriends played these games at my baby shower and I thought they were really cute.

Baby shower bingo - they took gift bags and attached a different letter to each bag to spell out "baby shower". They put a baby-related item into each bag that started with the letter corresponding to that bag. Everyone had to write down what they thought it was and the most matches got a prize. The Mom gets to keep all the goodies.

Draw a baby - Take the thin, cheap paper plates and have everyone draw a baby holding a bottle with the plate on top of their head. It was SO funny. Then the Mom judges the best and they get a prize.

  • My mom is playing a few different games at my shower(s?).  She is playing: a video one, where they get video of FI answering baby related questions.  I have to guess them, and if I get it right I get something and if I get it wrong I have to chew a piece of gum (and more and more gum.); another called the distraction game: You have to hold a baby doll and bottle, with a phone up to your ear and take laundry down off a line.  Whoever gets the most clothespins in a given amount of time wins.  And then we are playing "The Price is Right" which is the same as the regular price is right, but we are just using baby items.  I didn't want to do too many things that are too cliche, but my sister really liked the distraction game, so I let her have that one.

I like name that baby tune, sounds like it could be fun.  Also, you should award 3x the points for that Bieber song.

  • Have people guess the time the 1st baby is born. You freeze miniature baby figurines (can find at michaels) in ice cubes and then hang them over the sink. The person to guess when the 1st baby is born gets a prize.

The baby is born once it falls out of the ice cube.

  • At a recent shower we did the following: Who knows Mommy/Daddy best?, What's in a Name (How many words can you make from the baby's full name), and the candy bar diaper game (not my favorite).  We also did a checklist of what attributes will the baby have ie Daddy's nose, Mommy's personality, etc.

I've also done fill in the blank games with famous phrases with the words mother or mom, celebrity baby names (Match the name to the parent), and matching the kids from famous TV shows to the title of the show.

  • Yay thanks for this post, base on my previous post I too will be hosting another baby shower. I have lots of games in mind but need new ideas.

One thing I can contribute is, if there's guys in the party you can do guess what beer is in the baby bottle. or race who can finisht the beer first drinking it from the baby bottle lol

We did an ice breaker game from my sister's baby shower where I posted different baby/pregnancy related words in each guests back and they all get up and introduce themselves to each other by asking "who am i?" they get to ask only 3 questions. This is not really a prized game but just to get everyone comfortable with each other.
