2 really strange things are happening with Miley after we got back from vacation.
1. There is a corner of the living room she will NOT go to. Every now and then, she will start staring over there, start barking and will start growling. Other times she will walk by it and be fine. Do you think she could have gotten scared about something at my sons and is just being overly protective of us now that we are back? Or maybe my house is haunted and she has the dog vs ghost thing going! lol
2. She is losing hair around her hind legs like CRAZY! I have read that dogs can suffer from separation anxiety and that is one symptom. My son has repeatedly had fleas in his place, so that is our other concern. She has the medicine and a flea collar, so as soon as we got home, we had her in the bath to get rid of any dead ones and look for live ones and saw nothing. So I'm thinking it must be anxiety? I am considering running her to the vet just to make sure nothing is wrong with her.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Dog people...have a question.
My dog sheds like mad when she's nervous, especially when we leave her at my parents house while we're on vacation and when she goes to the vet. I swear we could make another dog out of the fur she sheds.
I'm not sure about the first one.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
What kind of food is she on? Chloe had a rash/irritation on her skin on her belly - she is on high quality food (California Natural) but we added salmon oil to her food and it completely cleared up the rash and irritation within a week. Chloe hardly has any hair on her belly/inside her legs, but the little hair she does have comes in completely now that we added the salmon oil to her food. We buy it at Chuck & Don's and also on Amazon.
I have no idea on the barking. Every few weeks Chloe jumps off the couch from a dead sleep and barks & growls like a lunatic at nothing - but I think that's just a dream.
