too late for a baby shower for a July 8th due date? I'm throwing a baby shower for TJ's sister in law and though about doing it end of May or beginning of June.
(this are all either Sat or Sun)
May 21-22 is off limits (its the weekend before our wedding anniversary)
May 28-29 was an option but one of her good friends is going to be out of town and she's helping me host
so we're left with June 4th or 5th
anything after that seems too late and the 11th is our Father in law's bday.
What do you ladies think?
"don't ever let go of my hands" teejay..

I had my shower for DS about 10 weeks before, which was kind of early, but nice. It gave me lots of time to tend to putting everything away and to buy anything else we needed. This last time however, we had something going on every Sunday- my son's BD party, the Super Bowl, and then Valentine's (my mom & I are both in the flower business)- and there was no way we could have it until 3 1/2 weeks before. I would've preferred it sooner, just because there is always a chance of going into labor early. Also, in my case, I didn't really get much off my registry, so I had to go buy everything and I felt I had to scramble to get it all done right afterwards. But it all worked out just fine.
I think 6 weeks is ideal, but 4 weeks is okay, if that's the soonest you can do it. As for the PP asking about being tired and feeling crap during your last month, well, I have been exhausted just about this entire pregnancy, so a few weeks wouldn't have made any difference. And all I had to do was show up, stuff my face and open presents. If I had to actually do something like prepare food and have a perfectly clean house that would've been another story.
I think my biggest concern would be if the mother-to-be is worried about it being too close to her due date. Provided it's not a surprise, I'd ask her feelings about it.
