We need a defibrillator around here

Did everyone just fall off the face of the earth?

Re: We need a defibrillator around here

  • Hahaha.  I am here.  I can fill you in on what's been happening lately that has been keeping me off thenest (not by choice!)

About a week and a half ago we were relicensed as foster parents.  Last night we took our first placement.  He is a 3 year old lil boy and is very sweet.  Not sure how long he will be with us; he has two siblings and they are trying to find a placement for all three.  But, so far so good.

THEN, it is FCAT season again at school, along with another five thousand other standardized tests on the horizon in the next month or so.  so, I have been swamped with that.

Then, Polk made an announcement that they may reassign all of us and put us in the classroom and do away with Guidance Counselors.  So, I have been trying to figure out what I want to do (stick it out to see if it happens, or grab one of the new teaching positions that will be opening here in a few weeks for the fall).

  • I've been MIA since Kennedy was born.  She's a great baby and sleeps all the time, which would leave me plenty of time to be on the computer.  I'm having an awful time dealing with everything though, and just haven't been in the mood to do much.

  • Wow!  What a lot of change.  Sounds like it is (or could be) all positive, though.  :)

I think all of that is totally, 110% perfectly normal.  We're here if you need us - via web or IRL.  Just let us know.

Once again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE her name!!!!  I am sorry you are having difficulty with all of this.  a student I tutor here has down syndrome and I LOVE her.  Her mom and dad have been through so much, but they have really been awesome through it all and she is a REMARKABLE child, and I know Kennedy will be too.  We are here if you need us!!!

  • I pop in but don't have anything exciting to contribute...
  • I've been popping in occasionally.  We closed about a week and a half ago and I came down with a really bad case of the flu a couple days later (guess the flu shot did me a whole lot of good!).  I'm in the process of slowly miminizing the amount of cardboard in my life (because it's really starting to get to me).

Other than that, my job has been really stressful lately.  I'm trying to figure out what's next for me.

  • I've been swamped at work.  And with health and family stuff.  I am so so so looking forward to my upcoming visit to my BFF's in Boston in 16 days.  I am also looking forward to getting my hair cut tonight, and the head massage that goes with it.  Ahhhh, stress relief.

  • I have felt like crap but am finally getting better. I finally slept in my own bed for 3 hours last night! Woo hoo!! Zoe sleeps a lot, but so do I! I am waiting for the sleep deprivation to begin that I keep hearing about. Sure, I wake up often to feed her, but I sleep when she sleeps. I think it will be harder when she is older.

  • I have kinda been checking in every few days. I have finals next week. Lots of dealing with a$$hats childish crap. He has this great ability to make my life miserable just before finals in hopes I will fail. The good news is he didnt steal my notebook (yet) this quarter. Yeah, childish.
