That has to be the worst news EVER! Okay, that's a bit dramatic, but it still really really stinks.
Most of you (on FB) know I had my appendix taken out via emergency surgery late Sunday night. It suuuucks. But the last day that I've been home and unable to pick up Lucas has been so hard on me. It breaks my heart ![]()
Question for those who have had an appendectomy, anyone find relief with a heating pad? Post-surgery I had a cold pack on my stomach but I'm guessing that was for swelling (??). I'm wondering if heat would offer any relief.
Also, how do you NOT over do it? I'm notorious for being unable to sit still. I can't just 'relax'. It's not in my vocabulary. What am I supposed to do with myself?? I'm already going crazy...
Re: No lifting LJ for ten days?! :(
Oh no! Hope you feel better soon & these next 10 days go quickly for you! I bet it's hard not to be able to pickup Lucas, can you sit next to him on the floor or couch & play, maybe read him a book.
As far as keeping busy, here are some other ideas:
-organize/edit photos
-scrapbook
-create photobook or photo calendar
-knit, sew or cross stitch
-shop online
-nest
-watch movies
-catch up on missed tv episodes
-organize paperwork/files, bills
-research vacations
-read a book/magazine
-catch up on blogs
-play games
Oh thanks Ashley! This is a PERFECT time to start tackling my cross stitch project. Great idea!
I can't get down on the floor, but Dad can put him in my lap when we read or have a bottle so that helps. It just stinks not being able to play the way I usually do.

I'm encouraged to 'get up and move around' but no walking or other form of extended movement. I'm guessing I'll get the thumbs up for that on my appointment in 9 days (hopefully).
I wonder if it's okay to drive a car (assuming I'm not flying high on pain pills)?

I think that holds true. But it has to be 48hrs after being put under. I THINK
i've been meaning to text you. hope everything is okay!!
hang in there!
Sorry again to hear about your surgery! I had mine out on emergency basis in 2009. The first few days were rough, but I went to Vegas 5 days after surgery. I found ice to work the best. And lots of drugs
It was sad not lifting Maya, but she was a little older and somewhat understood that Mommy had an "owie". I wish you a super fast recovery!
