Where have you been??  Hope all is well.

 We need some updates!

Re: *Megan & Papaya*

  • Hey there!  I was traveling for work, then I went on vacation, and have been trying to catch up at work ever since, so I've pretty much been MIA.  I feel kind of special that someone noticed Angel

Things are still going well with the baby.  He's moving around like crazy lately...Chris even got to feel him kick this weekend!  I love the reassuring feeling of his movement, and the special bonding that we're doing that no one else can do with him right now!  It is SO underrated!  I had no idea how amazing this would be!

We are working on cleaning out his room so Chris and my mom can start painting and putting the chair rail up.  I'm so anxious to see it complete!  We ordered his furniture a couple of weeks ago, and I suspect we'll have it late this month, or early April.  So that's exciting, too!

I did fall in love with a stroller while I was visiting my sister in Boston (we may have done some baby shopping!) and now I'm trying to justify spending $500 on a stroller.  Can anyone convince me it's a good idea?!?!

How are you, Kearstin?  And everyone else???

I was just thinking about you too! Glad to hear you are doing so well. I totally miss being pregnant with Logan and I never thought I would say that. Its completely weird to have her banging around in there anymore..lol

What stroller did you see? We are total stroller snobs so I am not going to be able to talk you out it. :-) I am convinced that spending the money on an amazing stroller is totally worth it. We learned the hard way and bought the graco stroller that went with the bucket seat and we hated it so much we went out and bought another stroller.

And we need to see pics of lil carters room!!

Megan, that's awesome! The whole baby kicking and what not thing. I can't even imagine what that must be like.

And 500$ for a stroller...do you plan on having more kids? Because then you can just keep the stroller until #2 comes along. That would be worth it.Oh and did it get good reviews? That's always another way I justify spending a lot of money on something.

I can't say I know a lot about babies, and baby like things, but aren't strollers usually expensive? Maybe I should start to look into this stuff...

  • Megan - like pp's said/asked, what's the stroller? After nannying/pushing around a stroller for 3 years in college, I definitely plan on splurging when my/our time comes!

I know I will miss being pregnant, too.  I feel so great that there's no reason not to!  I know he's safe in there and he's with me all the time, and I love that!

The stroller is the Bumbleride Indie.  They make it in black and grey, which makes it that much better!  It is also compatible with our carseat - also great since I don't want the travel system that goes with it (so bulky and heavy!).  My sister has a Bugaboo Frog and a BOB and I think she liked this one even more than I did!  Do you know anything about it by chance?

Don't worry...I will definitely share pictures of his room when it's done!  I can't wait to show it to everyone!

  • So happy to hear things are going well!  It literally melts my heart just reading about you feeling him and bonding with him, so I can only imagine what that must be like for you.  And I can't imagine what it's like for Chris to feel him kick!  It has to give him such a connection, being able to feel his son.. I'm melting again lol

As for the stroller, I'd say if it's awesome, do it.  That's something I wouldn't skimp on since it's great for so many reasons and if you plan on more kiddos, you'll likely still have it to pass on to them. ..oh wait.. you asked for us to talk you out of it, sorry Wink

We are planning to have another baby at some point (one more!) and I'm trying to use that as justification - haha!  But we plan to wear him mostly, at least as long as we can, so I think that's why I'm hesitant to spend so much.

And strollers are mostly expensive...at least the good ones (Montana, I'm also becoming a stroller snob, I think!).  Really, anything that involves a baby seems to be expensive, I'm learning really quickly!  I always knew it, but just didn't know to what extent!

This is a picture of the stroller:

  • Megan - I'd do it!! It's color/gender neutral and 3-wheel "navigation" is really ideal!

Plus, I'm sure you can always resell on C/L or something if you decide you wouldn't want to keep it for #2.

  • OOO fun!  Yea, I'd purchase it.
  • You could do much worse than a $500 stroller.  And, think of how much and how long you will use it!

Glad to hear all is well :)

  • Thanks girls!  You aren't helping me be reasonable, though!  Haha!

I really love this stroller!  It is apparently wonderful for city living, which would be great if we didn't live even further out than the suburbs!  But I'm sure it would be great to take to the park, etc., and when he gets older and I can't wear him anymore, it'll probably be easier to navigate around stores and what not than some others.

Maybe a bunch of our friends or family will all go in together and buy it for our shower.  Here's to hoping!

  • I like it! I think we may have looked at one before we got our BOB (we also have an uppa baby G-gluxe as an "umbrella stroller" and we LOVE it. I recommend getting one just to have something smaller.)  I am kind of in love with the BOB, we bought it so we could go hiking and off roading a little bit more and its awesome. We took it with us to Colorado and went to the mountains with it and it did great. They just updated it as well to make it more compatible with car seats.

So ya I am so not help when it comes to saving money on a stroller. Although if we had been smart we would have checked  our local childrens consignment shops. After we purchased ours we found the same one in amazing shape for $200 less.
