Good Morning

Hi ladies,

2 stories:

1. I'm only 4lbs over pre-pregnancy weight.

2. My dad and sister are in Isreal right now, and apparently they were out to lunch and a man offered my dad 1000 camels for my sister. The funny part to me is that my dad let the man bargain his way up from 600 to 1000. I cannot wait until they get back to here to whole story.

Kaesha and Katsblze: I'm almost sure you guys got me sick over the interwebz.

How's everyone doing today :)

Re: Good Morning

  • re 1. that is awesome, congrats!

re 2. that is the the most hilarious thing I've heard in a long time (and I've seen bits and pieces of the Charlie Sheen interview)

I'm not too bad today.  Back from the gym, just leaving for work.  AF is making me feel like a fat cow today.  I hope today's work day goes quickly since I have a phone date this evening with my friend who lives in Colorado.

  • Seriously, are we all cycling together?  I feel like half the board is under the ugly head of AF right now.

Yay for nearly back to pre-pg weight!

My coworkers wife/gf/thingy once accidentally bought a camel while working in the UAE.

Morning all!  I did not want to get out of bed today.  I also can't wait for our couch and chairs to arrive.  The DIY insulation couch is really starting to suck.  Looks like I'll actually have to do work around the house tonight.

  • Morning Ladies! I was MIA yesterday due to a Literacy training.

Moving day went well...no major problems. We have no furniture in the house right now since we have to paint, with the exception of our mattress on the floor.Hopefully tonight we will mask and possibly start painting.

I was a bad pet parent last night...when I was putting things away in the linen closet, our cat wandered in without me realizing it. He spent the night in there. At one point during the night, he started pulling the door with his paw, but I thought he was doing it to our closet and yelled at him half asleep. Poor thing :(

Hope everyone has a great day!

  • Good Morning Ladies!

Today is our first Dr. appointment so I am feeling a lot of emotions right now. Nervous is a big one. I'm not sure why either.

It will be a busy morning for me since I am only working half a day.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

  • Good morning! Congrats, MO, and I love the camel story!

Nothing too exciting here...another day at work. I agree with EHayes though, I'm excited that it's March and that much closer to Spring. I'm absolutely sick of bundling up in my boots, coat, hat and gloves every morning as I walk to work.

Tonight I'm getting caught up on Top Chef and drinking wine. Unfortunately I accidentally saw part of a preview for this week's episode and now have an idea as to who will be (was) eliminated. Starting tomorrow I'm going to make every attempt to watch it live again so that can't happen anymore.

  • Morning ladies! Sorry if this is bunched together, I'm on my phone. MO that is great news! I'm getting closer to prepregnancy weight, but have about 10 to go. Yeah sorry about the cold I left work again today but am out for the rest of the week, unless I get better before then. My house is one big germ fest. So I'll be hanging on the couch the rest of the day.

  • Erinn, I saw a house with St. Paddy's decorations and it made me think of you.  Happy March!

  • so excited that it's March, finally! my birthday is 22 days away! I am also under AF's ugly spell right now. ugh.

on a good note, I'm having dinner with my wedding photographer tomorrow night to catch up. I'm hoping to get some good camera/lens/general picture taking advice from her. we're also going to discuss books, since we tend to read a lot of the same ones.

oh, and DH and I have started carpooling to work, since gas hit a whopping $3.29 yesterday. pretty sure my next car will be a hybrid.

  • @ MO - those are both awesome stories!

@ raynes - no AF here. Instead I get the pleasure of shoving progesterone pills up my hoo-ha for the next two weeks (minimum).

@ sweetpea - good luck at the doctor today

Today turned out to be much cooler than I swear the news said last night.  Not a happy camper.  I am just trying to make it through this week with the minimum of anxiety.  I am off Friday because I am flying home that morning to see my Mom and that is all that is keeping me going right now.

    That's nothing.  It's around $1.20/L here right now.  That's $4.69/gal.  I'm so glad I carpool.

  • Good morning, all! I'm already looking forward to the day being over so I can get another run in at the gym. I'm going to buy a gym membership with my agency as soon as the budget is resolved--I can run outside and shower at the gym during lunch. I need to get a bit more training in.

I'm going to echo everyone else and say I'm excited that it's March, but for geeky reasons: four books I'm looking forward to are coming out and my parents are visiting in a little over two weeks. My mom wants me to take them to a place that was on Dinners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so that should be interesting.

Back to the grind. We're going to rehash a project that's been haunting us for two years. Yay.

  • Good job MO! I love that your dad bargained with the guy about the camels!

These past few days have been really good. In the last month I have been going to the gym 3-5 times a week...sometimes more. Working my butt off. On top of that eating smaller portions and healthier food. I haven't lost one pound since I started. My goal is 130lbs. That is only a 15 pound weight loss, but at this rate it will take a good few years, rather than you know the four or so months I was hoping for. Sorry I had to vent.

Today is payday! So I am excited about that.

oh geez, that is ridiculous. I remember when I first started driving, gas was "high" if it hit $2/gallon. what I wouldn't give for that now. I couldn't imagine only paying $30 to fill my car up!

  • MO - that's awesome on both accounts!

I've had a busy day so far.  Went to do my driving theory test at lunchtime, and passed!  Yay.  Now to do the actual driving test.  Pilates class later tonight.

And speaking of driving and gas.  Don't even get me started on the cost of here.  Not sure if I'm doing the conversion right, but it's about ?1.3/liter here, which I think translates into $7.87/gallon.  Yikes.  This is why I stopped converting things here!!

  • Morning ladies.  Today is going to be a busy one, so only a bit of nesting for me today.

MO, the same thing happened to a friend of mine in Morrocco when she was there with her brother.  Their tour guide offered to buy her from her brother for camels.

Mandee, when I first started driving, gas was under $1.00.

  • Morning!

    MO- fantastic!

Check me in on the raynes camp of AF being a wench and rearing her ugly head. It took everything for me to get up this morning. I had a really bad dream about my grandpa and then couldn't really get back to sleep. :(

21 days from today I'll be on an airplane to Africa. The countdown begins.

  • MO, congrats on the weight loss and the camel story sounds hilarious.

Not much going on over here. After work I'm going to Target to return some duplicate gifts we received at the shower and to buy Thank You cards. I better get started on them this week or I'll never get around to it.

  • MO I literally LOL'd at the camel story and congrats on almost hitting PP weight!

After 3.5 hours of sleep last night we got to get up super early to take DH back to the airport for work. His week off goes by way too fast.

I'm ready for spring. It's -44c (-47.2F) with the windchill here today and it doesn't make me a happy camper. I can't wait to put the freaking winter gear away and get out the flippy floppys. Plus hopefully when it warms up everyone will stop getting so sick! I don't enjoy having to feed the kids medicine every day and keep little G home from school all the time.

As for the rest of today, I think it will consist of a little cleaning and a whole lot of nothing else.

Mandee, when I first started driving, gas was under $1.00.

Me too. I remember paying $0.97/gal. I could fill up my tank for $10 (small tank obviously). These current prices just suck. $3.42 here.

Same here. When I first started driving at the age of 15, gas was $0.79 a gallon. Yup I'm aging myself. =(

  • MO~ Congrats on the weightloss! The camel thing is hysterical. What would one do with 1000 camels?

I remember gas being under a dollar when I was in college. I also remember movie tickets being $5. I sound like my grandparents.

The weather is sunny and in the high 40's. Hoping to get out and take Addy to the park for a walk. Being cooped up in the house is not fun anymore.

  • Hey ladies!

It was almost 40 here today, so I actually ran outside.  This was tricky though given there are NO sidewalks.  I ran a back road and just hoped that two cars didn't come by at once, forcing me to leap into a giant snow bank.  Worked out okay and felt GREAT to get off the sidewalk.

We also had an early release day at school today and my kids were taking tests in all my classes, so I got a bunch of work done and then had a two hour meeting about restructuring our special ed program after the kids left.  Felt good to leave school without a stack of work still sitting on my desk.
