I think we are going to do a monkey 1st birthday party for the twins... They were monkeys for Halloween and DH and I are constantly making monkey noises for them... LOL So a monkey themed bday seems fitting!
Anywho, I'm not creative, crafty, or the like - anyone of you ladies have any ideas for me as far as decorations go?... bought or made? Colors have to neutral or pink and blue (with brown of course). I could do cupcakes with cute toppers or cake wtih a monkey on it or in the shape of a monkey. Maybe you ladies have had a monkey bday party for your child/ren or have atttended one. I'm not into Curious George so I'm gonna steer clear of him. THanks for any ideas you want to send my way ![]()
Re: Monkey themed bday party
I don't have pics on this computer, but I'll post some tomorrow. We did a jungle theme for Lily's first birthday party. I thought it turned out really cute.
I've also seen a set called "mod monkey" or something like that and I thought it was really cute. Google that.
And DEFINITELY check out etsy. Just search it for first birthday, monkey birthday, etc. You'll get tons of ideas there.
ETA: I did post a few pictures on my blog way back when
My silly Lily is almost 4.
I did girl mod monkey for DD's 1st birthday party. I got cupcake toppers from etsy seller Jessica Kromer and invites from jumping jax designs. For decorations, I made tissue pompoms (pink and lime green); I also made birthday banner out of colored paper from Michael's. I had this made for her birthday cake:

If you pm me your email, I can send you some pics from her birthday.
I saw this when I was looking for ideas for Alana's first birthday party. I love this blog and even if you don't like this idea I'm sure you can find some inspiration.

My mom's best friend opened an Etsy shop specializing in custom-made party banners, cake toppers, cupcake toppers, etc and does some really really cute stuff. Here's a sock monkey themed banner that she did that I'm sure could easily be done with a normal monkey:

and here's the monkey cupcake toppers she's done as well:

All her work is done to order, so you can customize it with any colors, names, materials, etc that you want, and she's really sweet to boot! Have fun planning!
