Science Museum membership?
Does anyone have one? Is there a point to it if they make you pay extra for the special exhibits anyway?

we had one, it just expired in Dec.
We found it was worth it. The membership and admission to Titanic last year was only 20 dollars more than 2 admissions to the museum and exhibit, so we got the membership.
We only went a couple of time with friends and their kids, but going even just twice paid for the membership. We also went for the dead sea scrolls, which helped make it even more worth it.
The special exhibits are discounted (and I think by quite a bit) for members, as is parking.
If you're only going to go once, it's probably not worth it...but if you'd go more, it totally is. I did the dual membership with only my name on it so I could get in one other person, kids under 5 are free.
Personally I don't find it to be worth it. DH and I did the Star Wars exhibit and the museum a few years back and it was interesting, but seemed geared toward school aged kids and wasn't as exciting as I remember.
We are going to get a MN Zoo membership next month and a Children's Museum membership in the fall. Ellie loves both of those places.

I've been a member of the museum almost my entire life. Now the membership is an annual gift from my parents.
I love being able to go whenever I want to just wander and not worry about the cost. Free Omni shows are a great way to spend a rainy day.
Special exhibits are pretty well discounted. I also love the parking discount, $5 all the time...even if you're just going to downtown St. Paul, not necessarily to the museum.
