would you get a humidifier or a

vaporizer to help with the dry air in our house? We have forced hot air and I think its causing dd to breathe heavy at times.  Our pedi recommended getting one but not sure which would work.  We used to have the vicks cool mist humidifier and we would wak up to the room all damp with water on the furniture & floor.  Is there one particular one that you like best?

Re: would you get a humidifier or a

  • are you using the vapor mist liquid, if so just use water.   the humidifier should be better for the dryness,  I have severe allergies and DH installed a humidifier into our heating system.  Maybe you could look into that as well?
  • We use a cool mist humidifier (or vaporizer? it's not heated)  I've heard cool mist is better because mold/mildew is not as much of an issue.  We ended up getting one that had adjustable output because we were getting moisture on all the furniture too.  I have it set really low in M's room so it adds some moisture to the air, but doesn't soak everything

  • the one we used we just added water to it.

    Which brand do you have?

Did installing one into the heating system cost alot? I will have to have DH look into that option.
