Wednesday comes in the middle of the week, the middle of the week, oh the middle of the week...
I have a feeling today is going to drag...hope I'm wrong!
Re: hUmp day
bah humbug.
last night i had intentions of getting my new phone, doing laundry, and then finally filing our taxes. got the phone (yay), but when i stopped at the in laws to do laundry (our condo charges us to do it, so we got a mile up the road to my in laws. classy, i know), they were inthe middle of doing two loads. so that didn't happen. and then i got home to file the taxes, looked up the IRS website, and just lost all motivation.
question about taxes: my cousin who is an accountant in a big firm, prepared my taxes for me, but as we are not a paying client of the firm, she could not file them for me. i can either figure out how to efile it on the irs website (which looks a bit confusing?) and get the cash back sooner as a direct deposit, OR mail in via snail mail what she prepared for us and wait a little longer to get our actual check. do i suck it up and go online? or just mail in the paperwork and wait a little longer to get the cash back? has anyone ever snail mailed in their taxes?
in other news, i made a delicious low fat dinner last night (husband approved!) of creamy chicken taquitos and did really well with my points for ww yesterday.

Alooo. Happy Wednesday. 57 and sunny here today, holler!!!!
Last night I put gas in my car, dropped MFD's sax to him at home, dropped books at the library, and went to Sam's. At home I packed my gym bag and picked up a bit upstairs. I noticed my closet doors and the shower doors were off the tracks. WTF. I really want to rip the shower doors out and put a curtain in. The tracks and all are just screwed on the bath fitter thing. I think this can be done. I will google it.
Anyhoo my mom came over to pick up magazines and hung out for a while. She left at 8. I made hard boiled eggs and added noodles to my turkey stock to make a big vat of turkey soup, so my lunches are pretty set for the next week. I unloaded the dishwasher, took everything out of the fridge and cleaned it (and figued out why things are freezing in the bottom two drawers - that I fixed with good ol' duct tape), wiped down the kitchen, swept the kitchen floor, packed my lunch, and finally ate pizza for dinner at 9 p.m. I watched 90210, Gossip Girl, and the Sheen S$itshow on DVR. I got into bed at 11:30 and read until after 12.
I didn't want to get up this morning. Shocker.
I didn't get to go to Lowe's and Target last night, so I might do that tonight. I want to get most of my chores done tonight and tomorrow night. I have a jewelry demo Friday, and I want to try and do a little yard cleaning Saturday morning before lunch with the ladies.
Blerg. Wednesday.
I couldn't fall asleep last night so I'm extra tired this morning and coffee just isn't kicking it. I just spend the last 10 minutes on the phone with Comcast attempting to lower my bill. It was pointless.
I know we pay a really cheap amount and it could be a lot worse, but I don't want to pay an extra $20 a month.

Shauni - I do my parents' taxes and they go snail mail both ways - it really doesn't take THAT terribly long - maybe a month (max) from sending the forms to getting the check. Also - you do have the option of mailing in your forms and then having the IRS direct deposit your refund - The last time I did that (about 2 years ago - I was anti-Turbo Tax and too cheap to pay to e-file), I think I had the money in about 3 weeks - so not too much longer than with efile & direct deposit.
Wednesday is going slow so far. Nesting must be kicking in because I am OBSESSED with design/renovation blogs right now. And paint. It's kind of sickening.
K and I got about half of the basement patched last night - we're hoping to get it done in the next few weeks so we won't be mid-project when the bean appears. And we're finally trying to combine our finances. We've been keeping things separate since we still have the second set of house bills but he feels like we're still living separate lives. The transition to a single household fund will be a difficult one for me - hoping it goes as smoothly as possible.
Good Morning! Nothing much going on here. I'm kinda in a bum mood today. Stressed about life and what not. I really think I need a vacation away. At least when MIL and BIL come an visit I can take time off of work so hopefully that will help my sanity for a little bit.
Morning everyone. It's Wednesday. No kids have shown up yet (currently waiting on a group which will probably be a no show). I have a meeting at 11:45 and idk what to do with the girl. She's making progress with my goals but not academically so I'm torn on whether to keep her or dismiss her.
Last night I worked on the lingerie shower/bachelorette party details. I think I've decided to make it a beach day and if it rains then we'll head back to the bride to be's house since she lives close by. I grilled porkchops and finished up some work for the meeting today, watched some tv shows and called it a night.
Shauni- I've done snail mail before and it really doesn't take that much longer, at least for federal. State always seems to take forever.
Deb- Hope everything works out for your mom today and she gets the help she needs!

Morning! I was doing so well this week with getting up/in to work early, but I snoozed today and just arrived (8:30). Boo, as I have a ton of work to do, and a meeting from 1-5 that cuts into my time to do it in. But tonight I have dinner with my BFF/bridesman, which will be nice. H has hockey and I'll be in the same town as his game, so I can hopefully go catch a bit of that as well.
Susie - combining finances was hard for us as well, although we didn't have the complication of two houses. At 32 and 36, it was hard to throw it all together. What we did is keep separate checking accounts, into which a small portion of our paycheck is direct deposited. We can use that as our "fun" money - him for hockey, me for makeup/clothes/etc., with the goal that neither of us begrudges the other for spending money on those things.
H and I were both super lazy last night and just got takeout for dinner. Mine was very meh and I barely ate it, which serves me right for not just making an omelet or something that would have been healthier.
Our new couch is being delivered this morning, which I am so super excited about. Now I'm looking for a rug.
I think this is the bigger problem - at least for me - than having the two sets of bills. I just turned 30 and K is 37 - so we've both been on our own for a while and have or own ways of doing things. What you describe sounds like our plan...hopefully it will work out for us.
And ditto JenO - I want to see pics of the couch cuz it looked pretty sweet in your catalog pics
Susie, it's worked well for us so far! H and I have totally different spending habits, like I tend to use debit for everything, and he uses cc for points. I've been amazed that somehow by combining, it feels like we have more $$, which is always welcome.
And I think here's a pic:
ETA: It's huge! Both the couch and the pic.
