Finally, I got my textured tub floor clean!

I posted about a week ago asking for tips on cleaning a textured tub floor.  Well, I found out how...and it works!

I poured shampoo (just cheap shampoo) on the floor and let it sit for about 7 hours.  Then I took a scrub brush and scrubbed (not very hard, and just a quick run over).  Rinsed the shampoo away, and the floor was sparkling clean.  I couldn't believe it.

I found out about the shampoo by searching around on the internet, and added the scrubbing for good measure.  I'm so happy, this is the first time the tub has been really totally clean since we moved in 2 1/2 years ago.

Re: Finally, I got my textured tub floor clean!

  • i know you said cheap shampoo but whta brand and how long did you let it sit- i have the same problem
  • I used Vo5.  I let it sit 7 hours, then scrubbed with a scrub brush and rinsed.
  • This is a great tip!  I have the same problem, and can usually get it pretty clean with a magic eraser and a lot of scrubbing, but I am definitely going to try this out.

  • I use to have this problem in my last house and tried everything, but went to one of two things: comet with bleach, scrub in, let sit, rinse, repeat once more.  A magic eraser bathroom for a few stubborn areas.  Lastly baking powder scrubbed in and lemons (cut in half and scrub with them) sounds really dumb but worked!
