Recommend a spring jacket

In the winter I usually wear my fleece North Face jacket, but I don't really have a good "spring" jacket and figured since we're going to NYC in April it would be good to get one. I heard it can hot, freezing, or rainy (or somewhere in the middle) during April, so I figured a light jacket possibly with a hood would be nice to bring.

Any suggestions? Keep in mind I usually require an XL or plus sizes!

  • i would just get a waterproof shell for the north face jacket. most of their fleeces are designed to work as a system so you get 3 jackets in 1.

    fleece

    rain jacket

wear both together for warmth + wind/waterproof protection

that is what i did for ireland 2 years ago and it was perfect. i could always dress for the right weather and warmth.

  • I bought a North Face Apex jacket for our trip to Peru.  I love it and can't wait for it to get warmer out here so I can wear it again!  I got a great deal on www.rei.com on it.  I think I paid $89.  Also, I bought a really lightweight spring jacket at H & M last March, it was cheap ($20) and super cute.
