QOTD

Sorry guys, I have not been feeling well lately, so I've been slacking on these.

Would you rather have a job that is flexible but boring or stimulating but rigid?

Re: QOTD

  • My current job is flexible and boring, and it sort of suits me right now. I like that I don't have to stress about being right on time or about leaving early on a Friday. I have to say, I never thought I'd want something like this, but it's been working great for our life lately.

  • Flexible but boring.  I guess I have it all, since my job is stimulating and flexible.

  • Stimulating but rigid, definitely.

  • I also have a job that's flexible but boring; it's keeping me current in my career, but it's not a big challenge. If I were younger with less constraints I'd go for rigid but stimulating, but now I value my life outside of work way too much to go for something that's really, really inflexible. I just don't think it'd be a good trade-off at this point.
  • Stimulating but rigid.
  • I would have to say stimulating but rigid.

  • Flexible but boring. With two kids I  need something flexible.

  • At this point, flexible but boring works for me. I plan to stay at my job until the end of summer and after that I'll start looking for something else. I'm not learning anything new and I don't feel challenged anymore which is part of the reason I plan to leave.

  • Nice ticker!!

Flexible is what works for me now, with all the doctors appointments and needing time off to go see my Mom.  I will especially need flexible if we get a take home baby.  If I am bored, I can usually find something to do.  It may not be stimulating, but at least I will be busy.  Or I could always Nest.

Flexible and Boring, I think, because I can always find a way to make things more interesting!

  • Stimulating but rigid...though right now I am pretty lucky.  My job is definitely stimulating, and I have flexibility in terms of what I do in my classroom/how/what I teach, but the schedule is obviously rigid--I can't leave early or take a long lunch if I have errands and make up the time elsewhere.  That would be nice sometimes, but I think I pretty much get the best of both worlds...
