Anyone been camping up at Clear Lake? We booked a camping trip for mid June at Fallen Leaf. Now I am trying to think more ahead for Labor Day weekend. It looks like there are still quite a bit available up there. But is it nice? I have only been there for a concert a few years ago before the ampitheatre shut down.
Re: Camping at Clear Lake?
What about the Clear Lake State Park? Its 3 miles from my parents house! Its really nice and kept very clean.
But I agree the lake is gross and full of algae and by mid to late August it smells AWFUL! Like we keep all of the windows close because it stinks.
I don't know, I had a great time at Clear Lake when DH and I went, but that was in October. We didn't do too much lake stuff, since we didn't have a boat. But there are a lot of wineries up there, some nice looking hiking and a fun, hippy dippy hot springs (clothing optional!)
It was pretty buggy, but you only really noticed it at night.
