Re: ~~Tara~~
Thanks! Did you do an 18 month program? What was your major beforehand? Since I have an English degree, I know I do need to fulfill about 4 prerequisite classes before being admitted into most BSN programs. If I do ever apply, I already know the school I'd apply to. A few years ago I looked at 2 others in the area and either didn't like the focus of their programs or knew I wouldn't get accepted. (Our university med center has an accelerated BSN program but only accepts people who had a 3.6 or higher GPA in college. Ridiculous -- I had a 3.4!)
Mine was 15 months, or 5 quarters. My previous major was in Spanish, although by the end of my junior year I decided to go into nursing, so I took my remaining Spanish classes and some prereqs my senior year to get them out of the way. My classmates had majors ranging from Spanish to English to Exercise Science to Biology and everything in between.
It was like nursing boot camp, but it was nice to be done with school quickly. And I made a lot of good friends, which was helpful since we spent so much time together.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
