1st anniversary coming up!

Hey everyone!

Wow, it's been a long time (or not really, actually time has just gone by fast).  I hope you all have been doing well.  I have been thinking about this and am a bit stumped, and thought who better to ask then you all -- what are you all planning to do for your wedding anniversary?  Are you doing the traditional paper gift or the modern clock thing or none of the above?

Re: 1st anniversary coming up!

  • We decided that we are going on a 5-day cruise, so I guess you can consider the plane/cruise tickets to be our paper gift to one another. DH and I have agreed that we would much rather go places for our anniversary than necessarily buy material things. We are much more experience people... not that I would turn down diamonds or anything when that one rolls around!
  • Honestly, I don't know what we are doing for our anniversary.  I told DH to plan something, since I'm always the "planner."  I want to be surprised and swooned! ha!

I am getting him a membership to the hot sauce of the month club!

I am kinda worried he will drop the ball and not make our anniversary special.  He talked about going on a motorcycle ride with some friends the Saturday before (the 13th is a Sunday)...so I worry he will be really beat tired from an all day ride.  And a ride is not something we do together...I don't love to ride with him.  I'm trying not to be selfish and think "he has to make this special" but I realllly want him to!

This. We are also doing a trip, we decided shortly after we got married that we would like to travel to a different city every year for our Anniversary. This year we are going to Phoenix for the weekend. We are also sticking to traditional gifts, so tickets to an NHL game are our "paper".

  • oo, really good ideas!  I never thought about those monthly things either!  I was going to do tickets too and actually found the perfect tickets but then realized I have to work the same night (overnight call, boo).

  • We are doing the traditional paper gift, just a little delayed, we are going to Chicago to catch a White Sox game in June, and then a Cardinals game for the 4th of July.
