Chidcare questions

Is in home care more expensive than a center?

How much is newborn care?

Have you found that part time care costs more?

Re: Chidcare questions

  • Is in home care more expensive than a center?  Generally no. The in homes we looked at are around $150/wk. Where as centers for infant care can be about $175/wk.

How much is newborn care?  Answered above.

Have you found that part time care costs more? We haven't looked at PT, but I would think that they would still be the same weekly rate.

I didn't look at home care, but usually I heard it is cheaper.

    Infants were $160-190.

For part time, the place still has fixed expenses - payroll costs being the most expensive. If the ratio is 4:1, and one of the kids in part time, the teacher still has to be paid the same amount. I think PT would still cost the same.

    No, it is cheaper.

Center: over $160-300 weekly. Home: $120-175

Have you found that part time care costs more?

Nope. My LO is part-time in a home day care, it is WAY more affordable than full-time.
