Interviewing with a recruiter first
Has anyone been through this process before? Where a recruiter interviews you and "helps" you get the position at the company you applied to? I'm meeting with the recruiter today and would love some feedback!!

PP and I are in the same situation. I also used to be a recruiter for an agency and now am a corporate recruiter. I would agree that the interview is fairly casual, however, I was always impressed when a candidate would treat it as a formal interview (i.e. wear a suit, bring copies of your resume, take notes). This showed me that the candidate was excited and ready to find a great position and I could present them to the clients who required very professional employees. My interviews usually lasted around 30 minutes. Good luck!
I'm a 3rd party recruiter. I meet with candidates to make sure they don't have 3 heads and just get to know them a little better. Body language says a lot that you can't get over the phone.
Be fairly open but don't tell the recruiter you plan to move to timbuktu in 2 years because then they'll be reluctant to place you since their reputation is on the line too.
