Today would be my normal work at home day. It wasn't' made easier when both kids told me that they didn't want to go bye-bye and wanted to stay home
I think we are going to have to put Amelia to bed fireman style, with her clothes on. She throws a major fit in the morning when she try to change her. She doesn't want to take her PJs off. She will hold on the them for dear life and SCREAM like crazy. We basically have to hold her down and change her.
Re: Thursday Randoms
At New Years, I came down with a bad cold. I think it killed my immune system. I have had two (or is three?) more colds since then and my throat hurts today. Basically I am healthy for less then a week and get another cold.
Any suggestions for building up your immune system. I took Airborne while on vacation.
You and Charity posted this at almost the exact same time! Weird.
Yogurt is supposed to be good for the immune system.
They say adequate sleep and exercise are the best ways to stay healthy. Vitamin D is supposed to be very important for us Michiganders, since we get so little sunlight during the winter. I've had several smaller colds since fall, myself and I'm getting really tired of it. I do everything I'm supposed to to stay healthy and nothing works. I think I just have a crap immune system. I'm sorry about your DD fighting you in the am. Could you turn on the tv to distract her? That's what we do when we get Hudson dressed in the am.
I drink lots of orange juice and when I feel a cold coming on, I take Zycam. I kid you not, the past three times I've felt something come on, I take Zycam for a couple of days and I don't get sick. *knock on wood*
In other news, this new job is tiring me out something fierce! It's home health care and it's a ton of driving...it's so weird, because I haven't had a lot of work and I"m used to being home LOOKING for work, LOL.

Me too! We DVR Fallon and watch it the next night. I'm excited for tonight now.
Are you enjoying your work? When do you start school?
I never watch Jimmy Fallon, but I'm a FB of Brian Williams and they post videos everytime he's on a talk show (which has been a lot lately!).
GVSUbride~ sorry about Mia and getting dressed. Can't say I blame her though, some days Scot has to force me to change out of my PJs too.
Do you think it has to do with her wanting to voice her opinion? Would it help if you gave her 2 choices to change into?
As for staying healthy, wash your hands, wash you hands and wash your hands. I have a crappy immune system and mange to catch anything and everything. When I am super diligent about hand washing (to the point of red cracked knuckles) it is the only time I escape some colds.
Do you ever listen to NPR? Did you hear the episode of "Wait wait don't tell me" the Brain Williams was on? If not, you need to hear it. Seriously my favorite. (I think there are free podcasts of it out there.)
I do not listen to NPR, although on a weekly basis someone in my life is telling me to do so!
I'll look for this episode. Thanks!
Nope...I tried that yesterday. Also we let her watch TV in our bed in the morning. I think she just gets too comfortable snuggling in bed and doesn't want to change. I don't blame her. I think we are going to have to change her right away before we bring her to our room. If it wasn't happening to us, it would be comical. She screams LEAVE ME BEEEEEEEE!!! she is our strong-willed child.
I woke up at 6 (with an ear infection, no less) left my house at 7, got to work at 8 only to find out I wasn't supposed to come in until 11.
I switched shifts with someone about 2 months ago and she was out sick yesterday so I had no reminder. Boo.
Ack. That's a rough morning. Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks!
PS~ I enjoyed looking at your GA pics. Looks like you had a lovely time, and really made me want to visit myself.
Thanks! We had a great time. Savannah was everything that we hoped it would be. And the weather was gorgeous!
I'm taking a few days to clean my dad's house.
I really want to organize it, but i'm not allowed to, so it's lift, clean, set the disorganized mess back down.
Besides being tiring, how do you like your job?
I'm starting nursing school, but i'm going to get my CNA first, and work for one of the hospitals here - the hospital has a program where they'll pay for my nursing school.
That is nice of you to clean it. Why won't he let you organize it?
I don't have much else to do right now - i ran out of things to clean in my house, so i'm tackling his house.
I'm not sure why i'm not allowed to organize it - every time i do, he gets mad, and then tattles to my mom, then my mom calls and yells at me.
I'm starting to say 'who cares' and do it anyways.
The dining room table is covered in junk. I really want to invite a friend over for lunch, but can't, because there's no where to eat.
My sister in law lives in Savannah
