I have an appointment tomorrow morning to see my doctor (I think his NP) about some chest discomfort/pains I have been having. I'm hopeful that it is nothing serious since the discomfort is only mild to moderate on my pain threshold and is generally short lived. It has been happening more frequently lately so I have decided I need to get it checked out. Heart disease does run in my family, but other than that I do not have any risk factors. I'm a healthy weight, I don't smoke, I eat well 80% of the time, I exercise regularly, my blood pressure has always been below or at normal, and my last cholesterol screening (last August) was very good. While I know sometimes it just happens, like I said, I am hopeful it is nothing too serious. My appointment is tomorrow morning at 10:45 (central). Any thoughts you could send my way would definitely be appreciated.
Re: May I request some good thoughts? (health related)
I am glad you are being proactive and going in. Better to be safe and get it checked out.
I hope that you hear good news, I'll be thinking of you!
It sounds to me like you are the picture of good health! could it be muscular or even stress-related?
I will think good thoughts for you, but I'm sure you are fine :-)
This exactly! Please let us know how it goes.
Totally! I hope that all goes well for you my dear!
And that it's just something simple to fix.
Ditto all of this!

I like to think I am healthy. I've never really had any problems outside a couple broken bones, a cold here and there, and seasonal allergies. I really don't get sick often. *knock on wood*
Like I said, I'm not too concerned that it is cardiac related, but it's happening often enough that I want to check just to make sure. The fact that it happens when I am inactive rather than when I'm exercising kind of leads me to that. I'm thinking it may be stress or anxiety related. Or maybe even related to allergies (asthma?).
Thank you all for the thoughts! I really do think it helps!
