I was just telling someone this story, and wanted to share with you all because I thought it was adorable:
When I was in Boston, I showed my barely four year old nephew the u/s picture in my signature. He was very quiet for a minute or two, then finally looked up to me and said, "Aunt Megan, how did you get a picture of Carter if he's in your belly?"
I thought it was so cute, and a really good question for a kid to ask. Of course, he wanted to know every detail about how an u/s works, and I didn't have those details, so I sort of failed as his aunt that day. But at least I got a cute story out of it.
Now I want to hear something cute/funny a kid close to you has said!
Re: Cute things kids say...
Aw! Such a good/true question for a little guy to ask!
My story, a few weeks ago I babysat my RB (5) and FG (6.5). I gave them the photo-story book I made them and they last page said something about us going out on our HM. So
RB asks "What's a HM?"
FG: "A vacation"
Me: "Yep, it's a special vacation the bride and groom go on after they get married"
RB: "Oh, so you only get one HM?"
FG: "Uh-huh, well you can get married again, like if your husband dies or something. But you don't have to b/c when gpa died gma didn't get a new husband"
lol, so funny, like you said...simple things/words that little ones don't know how they work or what they mean, but then again, why should they at that again unless they've been exposed.

My nephew says the funniest crap all the time! One day last summer, he got out of the pool and had to pee, so he went over to the fence and pulled down his swim trunks and when he went to pull his wet trunks back up he held out his hands in a "what" motion, looked down at his naked self and said "what the hell?" I almost died!
We were in Florida a couple of weeks ago for our youngest nieces birthday, and we seriously spent the whole weekend cracking up at the stuff the girls would say. (They're 3 and 4.) The younger one was constipated at one point, and she was lying on the couch moaning, "owie owie owie owie." So finally my SIL asked her where it hurt, and she cried, "my butt!"
And the youngest girl is obsessed with princesses, so we bought her this castle play tent and my MIL gave her a Cinderella dress for her birthday. She wore the dress all weekend long, to the point where they had to bribe her to get her to take if off for bed, and she was obsessed with the castle. She kept telling everyone she was a princess. Well, her sister apparently had enough of the princess talk by Sunday, because she said, "you're not a princess...you're a MONSTER." And the little one lost. her. ***. Seriously. She screamed, "I NOT A MONSTER! I A PRINCESS!!" and stamped her foot. I almost peed my pants.

My friend's daughter will be 14 this month (yikes!), and we still quote things she said as a toddler. My all-time favorite was when her aunt called and asked my speak to the then 2-year old girl. Knowing that talking on the phone was the last thing her kid liked, and knowing that her SIL is a giant pain in the arse, my friend tried to argue, then gave in. So she called over her daughter and handed her the phone saying, "Auntie wants to talk to you." Her daughter took the phone, yelled, "No, Sue! No me talk-a you. Bye, Sue. BYE!" And hung up. My friend was in tears as she told me this story, she was laughing so hard.
And yeah, 12 years later, I still use "no me talk-a you!" on a regular basis.
