If you <3 the Dollar Store...

A lot of it I knew but I was surprised to know somethings may be past the expiration, and that kitchen supplies are good. I figured the kitchen stuff was always cheeeeap.

Re: If you <3 the Dollar Store...

  • That's so funny, I was just there on my lunch hour yesterday picking up decorations/plates/napkins/wrapping paper...etc...for a shower I'm throwing.  I'll be sure to go back the day of the shower for the balloons!

  • Yeah you kind of have to pick thru what's worth it.  I never buy beauty supplies, medicines, or food (unless you count boxes of candy before going to the movie theater) there.  I will buy coloring books or cheapy board books for G there when I am stopping in.  And toilet bowl cleaner.  haha.  But I am strictly talking about the true dollar stores.  Not like the Dollar General or Family Dollar which sell items for over $1 - and seriously I've noticed that a lot of their items are actually more expensive than WalMart or Target.  For example, I use hair conditioner to shave my legs and I usually buy like Suave at Walmart for between 75 and 85 cents - the same bottle is a $1 at the dollar store.  ha.  Just gotta know your prices and be a discerning shopping - just cause it's the dollar store doesn't mean it's the best deal.
  • Its very common practice in the infertility world to buy boat loads of dollar store pregnancy test. I always get the side ye from the cashier when I walk up to the register with 50 pregnancy test!

Yeah I know there are cheaper places to buy them but I kind of have to buy them on an as needed basis to keep my stick peeing in check. If I have a ton of them sitting around I want to use them constantly LOL!!
