What a day!

All I can do is laugh right now. This whole 'mom of 2' gig is comical at this point. Little miss decided that sleeping was optional last night, so I slept thru my alarm. Reese was taken to school in a stained shirt because I haven't had time to do laundry or try to scrub her uniform shirts (whose idea was it for toddlers to wear white?!?!). I dropped her off, and as I'm leaving, I notice I'm covered in spit up or drool or both. I tried eating breakfast, while nursing Grier, and drop yogurt on her head. Have I mentioned my child has a ton of hair?!? I went to pick up Reese and she's covered in spaghetti sauce from lunch, but she ate! When we get home, I tried loading the dishwasher. In the 5 minutes it took to do that, Grier is screaming like a lunatic and Reese has stripped from the waist down. She decided that she was going to change her own diaper. I get her redressed (with a huge fight because she wantsvto change her own diaper), put down for a nap, still covered in spaghetti sauce and now I have a baby on the boob again. And she just peed out her diaper all over me. I need a drink! Lol!

Re: What a day!

  • Oh dear! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't laughing - not at you but definitely with you as I 100% know what you're going through! I've learned to take these days with a grain of salt (and maybe when the kids are asleep you take that salt on the rim of a margarita!!). Having 2 is a balancing act - some days I feel balanced, some days I feel like I could topple over! You're doing a great job and you're keeping your sense of humor, which is all that matters!

  • Yikes!  I think you are adjusting quite well :) and I like the humor you are keeping through the craze.  You are quite the multi-tasker, too!  It is amazing how much you try to pack in and juggle with the 1-to-2 transition and how life (and yogurt) gives you reminders to slow down :).

    Cheers!

  • Coming in late here but I just wanted to tell you I feel your pain! Its crazytown around here these days and I just have to laugh about it for the most part! The other morning after 3 days without pooping DS literally had the biggest blowout I had ever seen to the point where it was up the front, back and out the sides of his diaper. As I was attempting to clean that giant mess, he projectile spit up ALL over himself, me the mirrors and counter! And wouldnt you know he decided that was the perfect time to pee straight in the air lol! Chasing an active toddler and dealing with the normal newborn stuff is no walk in the park! We can vent to each other- hang in there! :)
