Question: Other Boards
I was just curious - do you girls post on other boards beside this one, or pretty much only here on the New York board?
I ask (and it may just be me) because I feel as if this is the only "normal" board around. LMAO.
Some boards thrive on drama and the catty/shady/outright INSANE behavior on them is astounding. I mean, the same people are on them hours at a time, arguing each other, attacking "newbies" - its like "Mean Girls", but the virtual edition.
I even tried the Bump. And dont get me wrong, I am thrilled that I'm pregnant and so excited about our baby and all the great things that come along with it - but Im not as "obsessed" as some of these women seem to be. And hey, thats not me being a buzzkill, but the Bump can get really insane, and crazycakes.
Feels as if I have only one place around here - thought Id see what you all felt like too. lol

I post on a few other boards...
I PPH the girls on the Nest Twilight board. Basically because we are all crazy ladies who are obsessed with fictional vampires. No drama there at ALL (except a while back when the Money Matters board decided they had to make fun of us daily....). I've met most of them IRL and they are awesome.
The other board i hang out on is the September 2010 board on the bump. those girls are very, very nice too. I can count on one hand the number of times we've had drama since we all got our BFPs over a year ago. Most of the bump boards are crazy, but we were lucky that the Septmeber 2010 mommas were for the most part super normal. I am FB friends with most of them now, and we talk all the time.
i end up on D&R pretty frequently, b/c we're new homeowners. (as a matter of fact, i think 315bride RECRUITED me from that board to come over to the NYC board!)
and i post and lurk on F&B as well, though i definitely don't take my F&B as seriously as that makes it seem!
all the preg-related boards seem CRAZYCAKES. maybe it's the hormones.

There are definitely abnormal people everywhere you go...whether it be on the comp. or IRL. =/
I go on the 0-3 months board and breastfeeding board often and lurk/post sometimes on the Dec. 2010 board. That's about it really. For the most part, people are pretty normal (no drama/snark) too often, but I usually stay away from that. People hide behind computers and think it's ok to say whatever pops into their heads...I just ignore those kinds of people/posts.
::giggle, snorts:: I did, didn't I? Ha! I've tried to recruit a few others, but they just don't seem to be attracted to a slower board.
I post regularly on D&R, F&B, and the Entertainment. Very rarely, I post a question for my hometown board, Upstate NY. I know a few of them from the Knot, when I was planning my wedding.

I lurk like crazy on the F&B board, and post occasionally. I like that board, it is more focused on the F and B aspects rather than gossiping, and I've gathered some good tips. I also lurk on MM and don't post, but they often have interesting discussions and I can also pick up a few tips here and there. I guess I post the most on the NYC board, and I don't even post much here either!
I do feel like this board is the most down to earth, and perhaps because we have the opportunity to actually meet each other in person, so everyone seems more "real" than the other "screen names" from all over the country that we will never meet.
