So... I'm freakin' exhausted and my back is killing me. I finished that damn summary judgment brief literally in the nick of time (filed it at 4:15 today & the court closes at 4:30) after working late at work all week, then bringing it home with me and working on it 'til 1 a.m. every night, and getting up at 6 to do more in the morning.
I get it filed. Exhausted. In pain. But happy. Relieved, even.
And then I get home... to find freakin' cold water spraying all over the freakin' driveway.
Eric uses the hose when brewing beer. He does it outside because he's using propane burners and huge pots, making 10 gal batches of all-grain.
Anyway, when our otherwise wonderful landlord built the deck on this place, he built it over the spigot - the spot where the hose attaches to the house & the handle/knob is. So he got a short length of hose, and put another spigot on the outside of the deck, running the short hose from the house to the deck, then a long hose from the deck out for use. He would leave the faucet on at the house, and then turn it off at the deck. Fine. Except in the bitter cold this winter, the short length of hose cracked and started spraying water everywhere. E crawled under the deck into the mud to turn off the water, and then got a new long hose and attached it directly to the house, under the deck.
And he bought a nozzle for the business end of the hose. Only unlike the good metal nozzles they had when we were kids, all you can get now is cheap plastic. As E says, it's the "made in China generation," and it drives me freakin' insane. Cheapass sh!t.
He thought he turned off the water at the house end, but forgot. Didn't know because the nozzle wasn't being pressed.
Well, now the cheapass plastic piece of sh!t made in China nozzle is cracked in several places from the cold, and spraying water everywhere. And there is no fukcing way I'm crawling into the cold mud under the deck to stop it. It's waiting for E to get home.
I just wanted to relax!
And yeah... we pay the water bill here.
Sigh.
