newbies in Plano

the DH and I just moved from Chicago to Plano about a week ago.  What is there to do in this town?

Re: newbies in Plano

  • i like to go shopping in Frisco and my DH and I like to go out in Dallas.
  • In Plano specifically?  Not much!  Lots of great eating and some cute little stores in the Shops at Legacy off of the Tollway.  Good shopping in Frisco and the outlets in Allen.  Addison and Uptown are other hot spots for going out...  from what I remember.  ;)  I'm a homebody now!
  • We have moved to Plano about 4-5 months ago. We like Angelika theater at Legacy, I like the stores in Willow Bend Mall, for night life we drive to Dallas.  There is nice dog park on RoundRock & Spring Creek. If you are into yoga, Sunstone Yoga is a nice yoga studio, small, but good classes. We are members at 24 hour fitness, but very disappointed at the Plano gym, so we go to the newer gym in Lewisville wich is not that far from us.

There is a nice park, Arbor Hills that is good for outdoor activities.

I am sure there is a lot more to do, but these are what I have discovered so far.

  • Fireside Pies at the shops at legacy is an awesome restaurant. You should also look into getting rough rider tickets in Frisco. It's always fun and inexpensive to go. There's also a fun bar up the tollway in Frisco called Lochrann's. It's nice because you don't have to deal with traffic like in Dallas and they have bands every weekend.
  • we moved to the colony like 8 months ago and theres so much to do around here. legacy drive has great shopping and food. willow bend has great shopping. watters creek in allen also has amazing shopping and some great restaurants. mckinney isn't too far away and downtown there are wineries and cute little boutiques. addison also isn't too far away and belt line rd is a strip of restaurants and bars, so much stuff to do there. the dog park someone mentioned is in a good location but we took our pup there 3 times and every time after we left he got sick so needless to say we haven't gone back. every time we go out it is either to austin ranch bars or downtown on mckinney ave or main st. we have done a lot of exploring so let me know if you want any more suggestions! :)

  • well, there's a ton of places to eat! just moved to frisco and we are so lonely not having made friends yet. if you dig anything up please let me know!!!
  • I signed up on groupon.com and I get discount deals sent to me every day from salons to restaurants to photographers.  It is a great way to discover new places and things to do around here!

  • I know Im a bit late to this post but my husband and I are also new to Plano. Let me know if you would ever be down to get together for coffee or something. Im always looking to meet new friends here :)
