Moms to boys come in
My kid would kill me if he knew I was talking to people on a forum about his penis.
The under side of his penis and down onto his scrotum is very red. Tonight there was almost like dead skin that came off when I cleaned him up and he did not like me cleaning him there.
Anyone else experience this? I let it dry out real well and then put dipe cream on it.
He also has raw/cracked skin in his hip creases. He REALLY did not like it when I got in there with some Aquaphor.
Thoughts?

James sometimes gets a really red line under his dink sometimes, and when I clean it up, no matter how gentle I am, he often doesn't like it. Sometimes his sack gets red too, as does the spot between sack and anus- that one is the worst about being really sore. Usually diaper cream overnight and vaseline type stuff during the day in cloth usually does the trick to clear things up, especially when that seems to be the only spot that is irritated.
And other times he gets schmutzy white dead skin ick that I asked his ped about a while back and he said it was a normal exfoliation in a damp area thing.
I don't know about the raw skin- sound unpleasant for mama and lil buddy. I am always perplexed with penis things. Does it hurt the way I clean him off? Should I not be working really hard to clean poop out of wrinkly sack parts? Do I need to clean him off with just pee diapers? DH hasn't been of much help either. I don't know how to handle the sublties of baby penises!

Honestly, little boy penises are frightening. I thought Luke's was deformed for a while because of where he was circumcised haha.. He has at times gotten rashes that sound a little like your saying. But, I always watched it and left it alone. It usually cleared up on its own.
Oh my god, I am laughing so hard right now reading this post! All the words being thrown around - junk, dink, sack. So funny. Sorry, Nolan has not gotten any diaper rashes there, but the pedi did have to pull (and I mean pull) back the skin during our last visit. "It's find, just put some vaseline on it!" Yeah, how about "Your child will be uncomfortable during diaper changes for the next week. Oh and don't use wipes on his 'dink' because the alcohol in the wipes will sting his penis!" Awesome. Was also told not to be worried about needing a re-circumcision. Yeah, I won't hold my breath. My poor kid has a severe turtle. Poor little Abe. Winter sucks!
No advice to add, other than I agree!!
