Spill-proof cups

Hey all,

I need to find a way to make sippy-cups for adults, basically, lol!  I don't have kids, but I have dogs... one of whom is HUGE, and has a tendency to knock down anything on a table with his tail.  I'd like to find lids that will go on big cups, if possible, so I can continue using my favourite large, plastic tumblers, but I am totally unfamiliar with sippy-lids, since I don't have kids and have never had to shop for that sort of thing.

So I'm hoping to tap the wonderful resource that is the community of nesties!  If anyone has advice on sippy-cup type lids for adult-sized cups, I would love to hear it, thanks!

Re: Spill-proof cups

  • I love Tervis Tumblers and you can buy lids for for them for hot and/or cold drinks and straws.  The Tervis Tumblers keep hot drinks hot, cold drinks cold and the double wall construction stops condensation on the outside of the cup.  They are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty.

I don't know about any universal lids that will fit on different cups.

  • Look for "workman's Glasses".  I think Libbey might make them.  They are just a regular tumbler glass that has a snap on lid.  Can't drink through it but it would keep it from spilling.  They started in France I think and the workmen would bring soup or lunch type stuff in them.
  • QVC has auto seal tumblers that work well.  Go to www.qvc.com and type in item number K8727.
  • Our cat helped prompt us to find our solution. Our cat likes to find glasses and lap-up our water. Ewe.

    We use these:

    I just love them.

My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.
